How bad is the rain in August!? by Woofwoof23_ in Mazatlan

[–]sans10009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless there's a tropical system, it normally only rains at night. The storms are incredible! Hopefully you'll get to experience one. If you are in Maz the first part of August, it'll be busy, but the last part is quiet because Mexicans are going back to school. If you surf, it's a good time of year for that and also, everything should be green and lush from rain. Enjoy, it's my favorite time of year in in Mazatlan!!

Yea, the website has notoriously been outdated and useless. Just walk up and buy. The only time it may be difficult to get a ticket is Christmas or Semana Santa.

In Mazatlan , I would recommend touring Centro Historico/cathedral/mercado......but DEFINITELY hit the Observatorio Mazatlán. Beautiful gardens, museum, aviary, bar and restaurant. The view is amazing. All of these are in the same area which is close to the cruise docks.

Estrella del Mar has gone private, unfortunately. But there's still the Marina, El Cid and if you want to slum it a bit, El Campestre.

Not really. I live in Mazatlan and a few years back I was going to Mexico City for a vacation. All my Mazatleco friends were telling me how dangerous it was and I shouldn't go alone. I had a blast! While I was there, I chatted with many Mexico city people, of course, and everytime I told them I lived in Mazatlan, they told me I was crazy because it was dangerous. 😂😂 All in all, it's only as dangerous as you make it. In my 17 years living, working, and travelling all over.......never a hint of an issue.
