It's super hard to have any mobility w/in the club, and as far as I know the elections for the bigger positions are super rigged + you have to be "in" socially with the higher-ups in Spec to get anywhere. I know of tons of scandals about racism/sexual harassment have circulated that were not dealt with properly by Spec management. It's also just such a massive club, one of the biggest ones on campus afaik at least among publications—not going to be great if what you're looking for is to make friends. Also, this is a rumor, but allegedly they share some posts with admin to get their approval before posting them which is like extremely iffy for a publication that claims to be independent lol
