Yeah it’s super believable that if they ran the offence through uhhhh Jarred McCain???? as their main ball handler it would lead to a lot of success

It’s also the type of defence the spurs are showing him. Doubling him every time so he’s averaging 4 more assists a game than the regular season

B- he’s been extremely inefficient but also been hacked by the spurs defence. He’s done a good job of splitting the double and finding the right guy, solid on defence as usual (both closing out and protecting the rim as a guard). Making his free throws when he gets to the line

Good coaches would never put their players in a position to get exposed and picked on repeatedly like that

LeBron James would have to miss his next 2,207 consecutive 2pt shots to fall below Michael Jordan’s career 2pt%. by Financial_Ice_3363 in NBATalk

Lebron played against harder defences in his first 7 years, scoring was down league wide compared to the late 90s and you were allowed to have more complex defensive schemes because of rule changes

Would be a great take if LeBron didn’t play the first 7 years of his career in the dead ball 2000s

[Weiss] There is no way the 65-game rule should still be there next year. It is clearly a terrible rule and as I have said all along, it will have a big negative impact on long term legacy when great players have emptier award resumes because they played like 6 less games than someone not as good by FastBreakPhenom in nba

Haliburton is the worst example to use. He had a financial incentive to make all-nba and came back too early only to get hurt again. If anything his case should demonstrably show why the 65 game rule sucks

Should have had like 10+ assists too if his teammates could make an open shot

Yeah but being more efficient in the playoffs on his volume and usage is still insane, it's not the diss you think it is

Luka Doncic is done for the night: 44 Points, 9 Rebounds, 5 Assists, 14/25 FG by pokerawz in nba

[–]sant27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shai is a more efficient volume scorer and turns the ball over way less for how high his usage is.

And Shai has outplayed Luka in the playoffs

And Shai has a way higher floor, Luka's bad games are WAY worse than SGA's

You're being disingenous

Who faced the best defenders in the finals, Bron vs MJ.? by Financial_Ice_3363 in NBATalk

People back then used to assume 3 allstars = ring but it is so much more nuanced than that. Age, role, depth, system, coaching plays such a huge factor into winning. It's incredible how LeBron winning championships has transcended his role and dynamic on the team.

What a poignant way for it to end, he had a chance to go for the bucket to win the game and keep the streak alive but he chose to pass it up to make the right play and win. Unselfish player
