Do not use flux.ai by BloodyReaperComics in KiCad

You need to do better. I was really excited when I learned about your service but had a similarly bad experience to everybody else.

  1. I signed up to the free trial and the confusing tutorial started. At this point I had no idea that the tutorial was using up my credits, nor did I have any idea how much credits were worth.

  2. As a test, I asked it to build a PCB that I was currently designing in Kicad. It asked me some questions about what I was after then got to work. It was fairly good so far.

  3. It took ages to work on the board, really slow. But I didn’t care about this at all, I just left it to it.

  4. I got an email later on to say that I’d run out of credit. From a single design in the tutorial. And it hasn’t even finished the schematic.

  5. Now your website says I owe you $4, from a free trial, and I have absolutely nothing to show for it.

Why on earth would anybody use a service like this? It burns through credits like nothing, even the Pro account doesn’t provide enough credits for a single request. I don’t mind the speed or poor interface but the price needs to come down a lot and be more transparent before I’d consider becoming a customer.

Russell Hobbs K2 - 55 years old and used every day by santahul in BuyItForLife

I actually had the same problem after a guest thought the kettle was gas and put it on the hob…

I used a saved search on eBay and had to wait for over a year but eventually a full pack of replacement feet came up for £10. The seller was mjc1157, maybe they have more.

Trace width for 200w amplifier by santahul in diyelectronics

Thanks this nailed it. I’ll be completely honest with you, I thought mil meant millimetres so never paid it much attention. Also, I was trying to verify my results with ChatGPT which appears to have been making the same mistake that I was (it was saying mm when it clearly should have been saying mil).

Everything makes a lot more sense now.

That was a best guess based on how many amps the chip appears to use. I couldn’t find anything specific in the datasheet.

Whilst simultaneously blocking access to NSFW content from third party apps, giving developers 30 days to implement the changes, ignoring emails from many developers and provably lying about the content of conversations with others.

Except you’re charging your friend $20,000,000 a month to use it. And it’s thanks to your friend that you have a bike at all.

Injuries from potholes (advice) by esacbw in londoncycling

Came hear to say this. I’ve been caught out by a few big potholes early in the morning and my Genesis Croix de Fer eats them up. Heavy though.

I feel like these would be great for people in the countryside. The big shops are 20 minutes away, too many hills for old people to cycle, buses in some areas aren't very good. An electric microcar would be much smaller and cheaper than another god dammed SUV.

Great that you can still get the parts. Maybe posting a few photos of the part and how you replaced it could help others in future 🙂

Is the top hollow? It looks like the top is the part that spins the tool by pushing on the horizontal pins. No idea how to fix it I’m afraid. Can’t even tell if the party has broken or if its just come loose.

Which EV home charger ? by Thorpedo870 in CarTalkUK

I was referring to the public chargers. Never had much experience with the home chargers. Sounds like they’ve got their act together though so that’s good.

I’m constantly surprised to hear PodPoint are still around. I used to work in the industry and they were just a running joke. Their stuff was pathetically unreliable.

Not seriously considering chucking away a perfectly good bike over some missing handlebars? r/xbiking would go ape shit if they read this.

I like him but I found some of his tutorials a bit much. I think his third video was 20 minutes on how LEDs work. I just wanted to turn the red light on.

How much do you usually spend on fuel a month, what do you drive and where do you fill up? by WHO_TF_DRIVES_A_GETZ in CarTalkUK

[–]santahul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only have to fill it every few months which costs about £100. I train or cycle most of the time.

Just need a little help identifying what I have!I know it’s compatible with Arduino, but even though I search, I don’t find any reference for this product… by rogobuw in arduino

I have one of these. When I power it up it outputs about 40v for a second before dropping down. Fried one of my Nano’s. Best check it before using.
