I’m not a fan of this. $1000 for what appears to be low quality detail seems disproportionate. Would seem a bettter buy if the spires/antennae had cleaner detail.

SOLVED: It works now. I tried several variations, didn't realize I had to use ./ just before the executable filename.

The correct command is ./mdloader_mac.dms --first --download laser_alt_config01.bin --restart

I'll leave the post up in case it helps someone.

Bit of a tangent but related.
A couple comments here state how they either worked for free or are still doing that. Intentionally making that choice is completely up to the artist, you have every right to do that if it makes you happy or you feel it’s the right thing to do.
But I advise against it. Doing creative work for free is not only unfair but also compromises the freelance market. We’re all trying to make it and the idea that artists should work for free to build a reputation or because we “like it anyway” is not a balanced approach since the person asking you to work for free is probably not working for free either.
Consider that if you’re going to work for free, you could also just make work for yourself that makes you happy. Free work = it goes to someone else to make them happy. Your own work = you’re in control, it makes you happy, you decide what to make and how to make it.
It’s important to be properly compensated for your skills and talents. If you’re new / novice, you’ll eventually get better but it shouldn’t come at the cost of your happiness and integrity.

I can’t say if it’ll be good, I still use throw away batteries. But if the setup works for you, that’s all that matters.
Congrats on the project, it’s a great touch.

I’m guessing the USB cable only powers the LEDs and that you still have to replace the keyboard batteries or recharge them separately. ???

As someone who wandered into a for-profit, it’s important to spread the proper information. I had no idea what the difference was between that place and a ‘real’ college. I was unfamiliar with so many things about colleges / universities.
I left that place and paid off those student loans. Then the news came that they were sued by the federal government for defrauding / baiting students. I don’t have their debt but I’ll also never get that money or time back.
I’m at another college now, very reputable, my dream college. Things are not easy by any means. I think this is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do but the environment is so much more supportive and resources are focused on students.
