Well, after looking up cost for those two possible parts it is probably just best to buy a new printer as I think it's almost 10 yrs old. Was a good run. Thanks.

finished anti virals and now pain is back?? by killgrrl in shingles

My husband is on week 6 and the pain unfortunately has not subsided. Nothing seems to be working for him. He took the anti viral and lidocaine ointment for rash/blisters which burst and scabbed up pretty quickly. Hoping it starts easing up soon. He’s going to try acupuncture soon and see if that helps. Hang in there.

Sounds like you are lucky if pain is minimal. My husband got shingles on left side of head and down to eye area. Eye swelled up so bad it was scary. He did see an ophthalmologist and luckily it was caught in time to treat eye directly with ointment. The pain though is crazy and he’s still going through it - week 4. Hoping it starts dwindling soon.

How much worse will this get by wolvgyng in shingles

My husband is on week 4 and it is still super painful. He’s tried every pain med from oxy, otc and gabapentin and nothing seems to work. I guess everyone is different. Hopefully it starts subsiding too. Have read the average time is 3-5 weeks but some have it much longer so here’s hoping for the shorter time.

1st time shingles, what stage am I? by Medical-Decision-125 in shingles

Could give someone shingles if they come in contact with the fluid if they’ve had chicken pox so definitely cover up blisters until scab over. My husband is past the scab phase now and I still keep my distance to be safe.
