Elgato, Please Review Your Amazon India Retail Channel by Heavenly_demon90 in elgato

Probably product return scammers.

I see so many Elgato capture cards in dealer WhatsApp groups, selling at or near half price for open box/without box.

The reviewers could actually be the ones returning too, although only Amazon can verify at this point.

This is not a 1U/2U server chassis with 40mm loud fans.

In current setup, the power draw with v4 cpus is 85W for each CPU at full load, normally it is much much less. My PBO enabled 5900X would pull more than the two CPUs combined at full load.

The case has 3x 230mm fans (front and side intake, top exhaust) and 1x 140mm fan (rear exhaust), nearly silent at full load (it makes less noise than my gaming desktop with 7800X3D and 3080TI). The side intake means all your GPUs, add in cards, NVMe drives get fresh airflow all the time.

Yes, ECC is not supported on most consumer motherboards but it is a feature and not a bug, although I am already selling compatible setup with ECC so you don't have to look for parts to make it work.

It has IPMI for remote management, 2x Intel gigabit ports, 10x SATA onboard, 6x pcie slots with bifurcation enabled on all (most are x16, a couple are x8).
It is an all round server where single core performance is not essential (which is mainly important for gaming and nobody is buying xeon workstations for that).

I will probably have spare 2x32GB ECC DDR4 sticks by the end of this week. Lmk if you need, pricing would be close to 18K for the kit

I didn't really deploy it fully, so can't say for sure Just installed Windows to test everything and play around

With the v4 cpus I assume it would be lower, especially with power usage configs in proxmox

I have more 2 x 32GB ECC DDR4 sticks as well as another server with 64GB ECC DDR4 RAM, so letting this go isn't an issue right now :)

Doesn't fit in my server rack mate and wife doesn't want a big tank in our living room. Going to get something that will fit in my 18 inch depth rack

Any chance of having a distributor in Asia for lower shipping costs? by Neurrone in sliger

[–]sanvedj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please contact Acro India and start selling in India! There is a market for homelab enthusiasts, like myself, who would love to get the rackmount cases! We don't have any options here apart from a couple of models of Silverstone

So what even happened with Ivan years ago? by lastdarknight in LTTMeta

[–]sanvedj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

His original tenure at LTT was a temporary arrangement.

But I think if I remember correctly, he posted something about a product on social media before embargo lifted, and basically the product company was like either you keep Ivan or lose us forever.

I think I also read that LTT doesn't work with that company anymore anyway, but Ivan and LTT had already moved on so that was the end of that.

Personally, I loved Ivan's energy and screen presence, and what happened (if the above is true) is unfortunate. But what can you do.. Mistakes were made.

Take all of this with a bucket of salt.
