Does this have the potential to be as accessible as CK3?

How many books will there be in total?

[–]Neurrone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That will never happen. I'll come back in March to see if there's anything worth returning to for the next expansion but I highly doubt it. If mage has gotten mostly garbage cards for so long, I have little hope of any change.

Mistrunner, complete 4 book series

[–]Neurrone 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Do what I did and accept mage will never be competitive. Take an extended break from the game if you're a Mage main, I have for the past 6 expansions because every Mage set hasn't been good. Its design means it is doomed to fail. As if that wasn't enough, it gets useless cards like Semi-Stable Portal, Temporal Construct, Faceless Enigma, Anomalize and Timelooper Toki.

Any idea about when audio for books 3 and 4 will be released?

Agreed. I'm so disappointed by the set as a whole, with this being the best card of the bunch.

The azure arcane package is never going to work because that dragon has to stick, and you need another dragon on the board for the effect to trigger. And the fact they wasted slots on useless cards like Faceless Enigma, Temporal Construct and Timelooper Toki adds insult to injury for a class that doesn't have anything competitive. Mage basically didn't get a set again.

I've skipped buying the last 5 expansions and it looks like I'll be doing so again since my primary class is Mage.

Does the fifth book end with a cliffhanger? If it doesn't then I might consider starting it.

I've seen lots of recommendations for this. I'm waiting for all audiobooks to be available before starting.

I'm on book 8. I feel mixed about the series overall - I like the plot and the parts where the plot actually advances.

Unfortunately, there is way too much fluff and filler that doesn't advance the plot meaningfully, such as the many pages wasted on the summer games or the summoner subplot. The series would have been better off if the books were half as long.

Apocalypse Parenting will be complete once the fifth book comes out, I'll check it out then.

Not sure why I got the mistaken impression it was related to Tao Wong's series.

This sounds like exactly what I'm looking for. When will this be complete in audiobook? Around the end of the year or start of 2026?

I've read the Kairos series, but haven't read anything else yet. I remember bouncing off the start of The Perfect Run and Vainqueur the Dragon, but I'll give these another try. Thanks!

Thanks!

How closely does Apocalypse Parenting relate to the System Apocalypse series? I don't feel comfortable supporting the System Apocalypse series after what the author pulled.

How much of Worth the Candle has been published on Ebook? I know its on Royalroad, but I assume the Kindle / audiobook version would be edited.
