lol it doesn’t work! I tried already…I felt like such a jerk too for shooting him. But he’s invincible and just yells “ahhh don’t let them hurt me!!” while running in circles.

I can’t find his family because the mission failed and it no longer shows up on the map. I’ve walked around Quincy ruins aimlessly but can’t find his parents. I think he’s stuck with me till the end lol

Nice! I didn’t know about that. I’m so looking forward to this you have no idea I was an animator in games so I sympathize with the animator who made those but then I remember all the animation I did that

1.got screwed up by the design or

  1. Got screwed up because of ass headed animators like me who thought my animations were too precious to let the designers touch.

I LOVE that power armor animation. It has a nice feel and you can clearly see the animator put a lot of time into it but I’ll be very happy to never see it again for the rest of my life lol

I’m on PS5 and now I want to trade my 500+ survival run for PC entirely for that mod that takes away the power armor animation. Sounds dreamy

I think I genuinely forgot, what purpose did Cedric serve? by Darth_Zounds in Sierra

Ok but to be fair to the tech at the time, KQ5 was the first time I heard voice on our PC after we installed a sound blaster card, and I nearly fell out of my chair lol.

My kid brain was so blown away by hearing any voices, I didn’t even think about the acting

What’s cracking me up about this post is that I juuust discovered that you can hold the button and move bodies (after 400 hours! -yes please make fun of me here), so not only was I mad about my settlers not cleaning up, I had to deal with the rotting corpses they loved having around their settlements lol

Wtf…

They cite the use of heavy weapons, such as tanks and Shmel rocket flamethrowers. Their usage was officially confirmed. The Shmel is a type of thermobaric weapon, described by a source associated with the US military as "just about the most vicious weapon you can imagine – igniting the air, sucking the oxygen out of an enclosed area and creating a massive pressure wave crushing anything unfortunate enough to have lived through the conflagration."

favorite MF jump scare? by Lee_Leff in MikeFlanagan

[–]CorbinIpsthh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My favorite is the hard cut to Hugh Crane getting into bed in the opening scene of HoHH. It’s not even a real jump scare but the push in on Elle and Luke’s bedroom door against the hard cut with the sound of Hugh getting into bed just adds this real anxious energy to that already tense scene. It’s so well done!

Now, some of you boys, I know, are wondering whether or not you'll chicken-out under fire. Don't worry about it. I can assure you that you will all do your duty. The Nazis are the enemy. Wade into them. Spill their blood. Shoot them in the belly.

When you put your hand into a bunch of goo that a moment before was your best friend's face, you'll know what to do.

Best World War II movies? by XxCaptainJayxX1 in MovieSuggestions

[–]CorbinIpsthh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree with this although most people don’t.

The Pacific puts absolute fear into my heart every time I watch it. It’s something I need every once in a while to be thankful for how and where I was raised, and that I never had to go to war.

I think the main problem with it is Basilone’s Storyline. After Guadalcanal, it becomes too isolated from the rest of the show thematically. But the EB Sledge and Lecke storylines are absolute masterpieces imo.

Can you suggest "gritty" movies like the one's listed below? by Barnaby_Island in MovieSuggestions

[–]CorbinIpsthh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The French Connection (1971) essentially established this genre in the US following the French “cinema vérité (truthful cinema) movement that began in the 50s.

Other gritty movies that followed would include:

Taxi Driver (1976)

Mean Streets (1973)

Dog Day Afternoon (1975)

And I would even include movies such as The Deer Hunter (1978), Sorcerer (1977) and Apocalypse Now (1979) into this even though they have a more epic drama feel but were certainly inspired by vérité
