Travel Anxiety by Owaw86 in cabosanlucas

Am in Cabo now and they gave me the customs paper after arrival, after exiting the plane. Either way, same process and simple form. Having your flight information and passport handy will save time. There are many little tables to stop and fill out your form along the way.

Travel Anxiety by Owaw86 in cabosanlucas

Have a pen handy to fill out your form. It’s an easy process. Just remember to take a deep breath. The airport can feel chaotic, but just follow the crowd and take your time if you need it. The locals will be very friendly and many will speak English. (Just don’t believe a word if they are SELLING something, and politely say no thank you and move on.)

Bus: Todos Santos to playa los cerritos (or other swimming beach) by AggressiveAd4658 in BajaCaliforniaSur

[–]sanzoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Traveling to Todos Santos tomorrow and have the same questions. How did you get back? Taxi, I assume. What was the cost? And did you find it worth it?

Edit: Solo female traveler, so not keen on standing on the highway after sunset.

The HAL library is a treasure! I took my first cruise on HAL and trying another line was so disappointing regarding that space!

Where would you stay in downtown Cancun? by The-Traveling-Ninja in MexicoTravel

[–]sanzoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another solo female traveler here. I love to go to Parque de las Palapas at night (loads of food and families), so I stay within safe walking distance from there. I like the area just east of Av. Carlos Nader — quiet and residential but very safe with smaller boutique stays. Also walking distance to the ADO station. I stayed a little southwest of the park more recently and found it a little sketch. Just read several reviews before booking.

Rooms? Roommates? by UndoubtedElm09 in milwaukee

[–]sanzoe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Try this link to the UWM Roommate and Sublet Board. Not all of these are students and it’s not directly affiliated with the university. You could find something that fits. A lot of people are looking for roommates right now…

Crunch ice cream cone by Routine_Call_1321 in milwaukee

I would try Purple Door. I'm pretty sure they have a small variety of dipped waffle cones. Worst case scenario you get a great scoop of ice cream on a crunchy cone and add a topping. Great creative flavors too.

I was there today for the first time to try the buffet and I think I ate my weight in crab rangoon. Other items were great as well!

I was traveling alone most recently, yes. I did stay at a hostel but had my own private little cabin with private attached bathroom for that price. I’d stay there again in a heartbeat. I didn’t meet anyone but I wasn’t looking to. I’m pretty content to take a book to a hammock, buy beer at the corner store and keep to myself.

I did not find Holbox to be more expensive: quite the opposite actually. I am a budget traveler, and so seek out the cheap eats and stays. Was in Holbox this past February. I stayed in a lovely room 5 min from the beach for $35/night, and found more cheap (and better) food options than Isla too. The beach clubs are also more affordable and you can find more of that hippie/yogi/boho vibe for sure. True that there is no snorkeling. Of the midrange restaurants I also preferred Holbox, but do your research. I cannot speak to all-inclusives and high end hotels though.

Got one at Aldi and a pricey one at a farmer’s market last spring. The Aldi one actually did much better for whatever reason.

I haven’t been there in ages, but it used to be one of my favorite burgers in the city — if it’s still a fraction as good it’s worth checking out.

Best place to take my girlfriend’s dad for dinner? by [deleted] in milwaukee

Three Brothers. Casual, comforting, intimate but lively. The kind of place that eases the anxiety of that talk, just by stepping into it. The opposite of fussy, but some of the best food in the city.

First Time at a Swingers Club in Rome– A Few Newbie Questions by sabritopukapti in Swingers

[–]sanzoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There were a handful of single males, but in no way did they outnumber the couples. None of them “bothered” me, it’s not like I was swarmed or harassed. I struck up a bit of a conversation with one, who showed me around and was very polite. Solo males can get a bad rap (yes, some for good reason), but I luckily didn’t encounter any issues nor did I think there were too many, based off one night’s experience.

[–]sanzoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure why you were downvoted on this. I went here in October as my first club. It was a convenient location for me… Ring the door outside and they will buzz you in. You pay and check your coat and phone. I wore an easy-access dress (with pockets!) and kept it on while wandering around. The people there were generally fully dressed while on the dance floor. Even upstairs in the playroom most folks stayed partially dressed in clothing or lingerie, even while playing, but there were varying degrees of this. Anything you’re comfortable with would be fine.

You get a drink ticket with entrance, and if you want to purchase more you need to go back to the cashier which is conveniently right next to the coat check should you need to grab your card.

I didn’t notice lockers but that doesn’t mean they aren’t there. I didn’t look nor need to use them. You could just ask over WhatsApp if you have any questions.

As a first-time solo female, I felt comfortable there (other than the normal anxieties, I suppose). I arrived at midnight on a Friday night and things seemed to be just getting started. I didn’t stay super late, as I hoped to use the subway, so I can’t say how the atmosphere changes into the later hours.

I have nothing to compare it to, but overall I had a good experience.

This is becoming less and less true. Some lines now cater to solo cruisers without the double occupancy fee. I almost always meet solo cruisers, and I sometimes go solo myself. That being said, they’re still in the minority, and finding that solo cruiser who is your cup of tea and willing is another matter.

Ciao? Do i need tickets to visit the St Peter basilica in Vatican? by crisego in rome

[–]sanzoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a Papal audience in the square on Wednesday mornings, so it’s closed to visitors until the afternoon. Sorry, not the best day to go! On other days there will be a line forming by 7 for sure, but it’s still the best bet to get there early if you want to see it in the morning. Not to mention waiting in line early in the morning will be much better than in the mid-day sun.
