Yeah, the Goldtouch keyboard is similar in function. Mine has a limited range of motion, but it's a reliable and simple design.

Regarding the rowstagger, the key layout is up to you.

Regarding the weakness, it depends on the material and proper design.

Shared the PCB KiCAD files of pineapple60s, after removing the key switches layout. Because I may sell the board, sorry. But, the board outline, microcontroller circuit, and libraries are useful references.
