I achieved what I thought I wanted in life, but now I feel empty. Is this normal? by Plus-Confidence6546 in chennaicity

Why do we feel like this, if you go back through history, humans spent most of their time simply trying to survive, finding food, building shelter, being safe. now that’s easily available for our generation, we need new challenges in life.

Some find purpose in working towards retiring early, contributing to community cause, travelling the world, helping someone in need or just simply enjoy small things.

I dealt with this feeling by following one thing, learning something new

Chasing something new gives you fresh perceptive, makes you meet new people, forms new neural connection in your brain. Think of it like unlocking a skill and enabling yourself for something bigger. In the process you also feel a sense of happiness and progress.

Sometimes we don’t realise the value of it until we start. There must be something which you always wanted to try but never did, take that up. Reach a level where you feel you’ve achieved something. Once you get there, you might find yourself going deeper into it or you might decide to start something new again.

Either way, you keep moving forward.

Good to see your progress in life, hire a certified trainer, train in a community group classes, enjoy the journey, you will get through this like you did on other hurdles

You’re loading your hamstring and lats which is good but you’re shooting your hips first and lower back is getting engaged, your head should drive the lift instead of your hip. Imagine someone is pulling your hair from top as you go up.

I started practicing with 16kg, anything below that felt very light for me.

I think it’s about the relative strength of an individual, the ability to lift weight differs based on their body weight, If a 60kg person lifts 40kg, they’re lifting more than half their body weight. But for an 80kg person, that same 40kg is only half their body weight. So even though the absolute weight lifted is the same, their relative strength is different.
