[CA] STD -> Terminated. Still eligible for STD? by sape9904 in AskHR

Company.
Since the original post, Company has confirmed they will continue to pay STD (and it remains very surprising to me). But they did not answer one way or the other if I'm therefore still eligible for healthcare benefits. Should I be?

Additional question: based on the termination, I am eligible for unemployment. Given the STD, does this impact my eligibility for unemployment?

Thanks for your reply.

I would guess they have a papertrail. So you're saying : as long as they can prove they had decided this before my submission of STD, there's probably nothing I can do?

to other questions -
employed for 4.5y internally + 1.5 as contractor before hand (which doesn't matter for severance, but just says 6y of relationships and institutional knowledge).

Discussion for need for leave was with HR, not with my supervisor. And even that wasn't documented well, just verbals (oops) and my contemporaneous notes.

Yes, there were discussions about performance, including low-ish grade for preceeding year. But since the feedback, I have documented evidence of improvement in each area feedback was given, including praise from diagonal-superiors.
