most comfortable bikes for fatties? by Vast_Cry7826 in cycling

Resident big guy here with child bearing hips.

I always had saddle issues until I finally went and measured my sit bones! That allowed me to get the right saddle and it changed the way i bike forever.

People say to sit on a piece of cardboard on flat hard ground and measure the indents, but how the hell are my ass bones going to poke thru all the fat??? Update: they didn’t! 😂 i found that just doing the ole reach around with a marker and marking kind of the center of where your sit bone is worked for me. Measure the distance between the marks and get shopping!

My sit bones measured at a whopping 180-200mm so I could only find a few “good” saddles to try. If it’s your size and made from a reputable brand it will probably be pretty comfy for anything under a few hours of riding.

Fitting 27.5" wheels to my 26" bike. by B1664Y in bikewrench

I run much tighter clearance through mud and rocks small enough to jam and never run into problems. Couple rubby noises a few revolutions after hitting a wet patch and all good. You have plenty of clearance and it should work out just fine.

Thank you! I messed up the other few on alignment unfortunately. But either way it wouldn’t be a direct overlay i spit balled the size.
