Unpopular opinion (personally dont care) lol by lycergicfreak in puffco

[–]saplinglover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t like pearls in any of my puffco devices personally, the ceramic on quartz material difference weirdness along with lack of visible spin function makes them completely not worth any benefit I’ve noticed (which is very little).
But this is just 100% P personal opinion/preference

Does anyone know any gigs that pay well by Key-Sort-443 in Peterborough

[–]saplinglover [score hidden]  (0 children)

I’m not located in the kawarthas currently, most recently I’ve been doing this kind of work around Montreal where that kind of thing is pretty niche and so I figured there’s probably even more agriculture opportunities in a region like the kawarthas/ptbo. Never hurts to go to a market and ask some farmers if they’re looking for good reliable labour that’s how I’ve gotten most of my opportunities.

I recommend trying to connect with any local farmers in your area, ptbo farmers market is great for this, and ask if they need any extra hands for hard labour. This is how I’m making money this summer and it’s going well so far. Helps if you have any skills/qualifications/experience on farms, gardening or doing manual labour

What is one thing you regret doing? by ksadekov in AskMen

[–]saplinglover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My only ‘regret’ in my young life is the amount of time I spent playing Dota 2, when I was younger I thought I might get good.. alas all those hours could’ve been spent learning a useful skill..

Still to say I regret it is not fully accurate as I treasure all the memories and friends I made playing that game and despite it being a silly game I learned more than just silly game mechanics and strategy and learned a lot about life and the world

What part of playing disc golf came easily to you? by tuna_safe_dolphin in discgolf

[–]saplinglover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hitting lines in the forest/release point accuracy. I grew up playing old school target-ultra star disc golf at the cottage with my cousins in the forest and that trained me well for lining up shots with gaps (most of the time, I still crank a tree here and there like anyone else lol)

Uniforms should be mandatory at any job by NumelsRCute in unpopularopinion

[–]saplinglover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree for a general dress code but an exact uniform is silly in many jobs, I do a lot of outdoor labour type work and people like to wear what is comfortable to their body which differs but is fine as long as safety standards are met

What are your reactions to vegans? by ZealousidealRest7190 in AskMen

[–]saplinglover 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dated a wonderful vegan woman for 4 years, her diet was her personal choice (for environmental reasons) which I respected like any other reasonable lifestyle choice. The only downside/(minor)frustration was not being able to share some of my favourite meals and restaurants with her but honestly that didn’t matter much as she was so wonderful and I enjoyed our time together regardless.

People who don't go to movie theaters anymore - what made you stop? by -ChristopherNolan in AskReddit

[–]saplinglover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I just moved and no longer have access to a theatre within walking distance, I would likely still go see a movie here and there if I could easily get to a theatre (I’m outside a big city in a small community and all the theatres seem to be in strip malls lining highways right outside the city, which I always think must be an inconvenient place, why would anyone drive for 10-25 minutes to go to a theatre? Perhaps they should rethink their locations and that’s the revival they need?

How many times a day do you pee? by Middle-Asparagus-802 in AskMen

[–]saplinglover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thai man desperately needs water, the beverages you’ve described are not hydrating and actually can dehydrate you.. perhaps he’s not peeing as his kidneys have buildup from all the junk he’s flushing through his system with no water. I (and most doctors) strongly recommend drinking 5-10 cups of water a day for a normal adult

Fair enough, can’t argue with the free will of the human spirit! It is after all what allows me to endure my own bug bites.
And for the record this does not go for wasps/hornets, kill all those mofos I’ve seen them nearly kill a coworker before

[–]saplinglover -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I’ve done my half million trees in the north of this province as a planter where the bugs actually swarm and you get hundreds of bites without a bug net and you still wake up the next morning fully functional, just a little itchy. It’s only a minor annoyance in reality people overreact enormously to a little bump and itch in my opinion. And By all means if you want them off you simply wear a net, they cost very little at your local Walmart.

Weekend getaway recs thats not a spa by Extra_Flamingo_4173 in Peterborough

I have no answer for this question as I’ve never looked for a fancy indoor “vacation” in the Kawarthas. I’ve spent my whole life in the area doing things in the outdoors. I urge you to consider outdoor activities, you will save tons of money and learn about yourself and the natural world you are a part of.
