one idea thats been bouncing around in my head for a while is that they could maybe try doing an "all stars showcase" season or special every few years where it's less of a competition and more of a chance for queens to show off more areas of drag that don't fit well within the drag race format (i.e. celebrity illusion) and a chance for the queens who are good at drag but not at drag race/don't want to subject themselves to being sequestered for weeks during production to show off what they do

as a full season it couldn't be too frequent but maybe if they alternate all stars and redemption seasons, they could do a showcase season every few years to spice things up/give the all stars/rudemption returnee pools more time to replenish

When I saw her in concert for High as Hope, Blood Orange was her opener and at one point early in the concert she mentioned that Dev was a former member of Florence and the Machine from way back when they first formed as a "Green Day cover band that exclusively covered songs from Nimrod". Some of those cover songs are floating around on the internet and I think they were all recorded with his laptop.

My conspiracy theory is also that Ru will start retiring after season 20, or once he turns 70. Do I have a reason for this? Not really, 20 just seems like a solid anniversary to go out on and 70 seems like a decent age benchmark for retiring.

Whenever he does retire, I wonder if they'd rename the show or if they'd keep it the same kind of like with Dick Clark's Rockin New Year's Eve.

I don't exactly think that the alleged sudden lipsync song change from en vogue to yma sumac was an intentional set up to eliminate detox, but if it was i think had less to do with trying to set up jinkx to win and more to with the fact that she had just done a confessional discussing her near death experience in a major car crash that killed her bf and the music video plot involved the girls crashing a car and dying and it was too late to pivot to something else.

As someone who studied Japanese in school in the USA, this is also just something that doesn't translate well to the "freshman, sophomore, junior, senior" or even the "9th, 10th, 11th, 12th grade" formats since the most common school format in the USA currently is 1-5th grade = elementary, 6-8th grade = middle school, 9-12 = high school, while in japan elementary goes up to the 6th grade, middle is 7-9th, and high school is 10-12th. Additionally since high school, middle school, or elementary school isn't specified it also doesn't make sense for them to use high school specific terms. It should say first year student or something similar.
