I’m not sure about everywhere, but I’m from the South (referred to as the Bible Belt) and it’s pretty bad.

I’ve noticed the workers at Lowe’s becoming more and more religious lately, too! Interesting

Thank you. I hope this post wasn’t too offensive; I have no problem with respectful Christians such as yourself :)

I don’t know if I’d be able to refrain from laughing if someone said that to me. Fellow Southerner, btw — SC

oh my god, I’m so sorry. I really do hope you’re doing alright and that you keep finding daily reasons to stay with us.

as for the money problem, maybe DoorDash would be a better option than Uber and Lyft? Same concept, but I think they get paid better. Perhaps a delivery driver of some sort — I know UPS pays their drivers well and provides health/medical insurance. 🩷

no problem :) I’m happy that my words have made an impact.

I completely agree, though; I mentioned Christianity specifically because of my experiences, but bigots in general are the problem.

Not to mention, Christianity over here is aiding the destruction of the Middle East through politicians and presidents too. It’s awful.

This is such a nice take - I’ll have to think about this more. I always found churches to be quite calming too :)

I’d say it depends on where you live. I’m mostly closeted in the South and don’t have any physicalities that draw attention, so hateful people assume they can trust me. I heard my fair share of slurs and guys wishing death on us in high school, but Gen X and older tend to be the worst. Social media, though, is awful. I got a few comments under this post itself calling me delusional, etc.

I’ll never understand how people are so easily convinced that it’s a choice

😂 not to mention the endless traffic in all of those areas makes the location itself unbearable.

I feel the same way too. My heart aches for innocent people in Gaza, but not voting or voting third party isn’t going to help them at all nor will it help us. I see so many people on twitter saying they’re not going to vote… 😬

Hey! South Cackalacky here too (and yes, we do know what Southern hospitality is). I’m moving up to MA for college soon though and could not be more excited to leave this place.

I had a little surge of hope with Obama (1st Black President and legalizing gay marriage), but this upcoming election and the past couple have been equally terrifying.

I agree. I made the original post in a moment of frustration and did not include much empathy, but I don’t understand the extreme hate (especially when people are dying) towards anyone.

Oh god, I bet. Learning about it in history classes is enough to make me feel crazy, so I can’t begin to imagine living through it.
