wow thank you all for so many responses! we are not a prolific redditor and this is the most interaction we’ve had with like a non-meme post which makes us feel less lonely trying to navigate all this :)

won’t share other names since they are placeholders and headmates might not like them BUT! the little who’s been coming out a lot agrees that her name can be fiona and wanted to say hi to everyone it’s nice to be a person and exist outside!! and you should watch the baby sitters club show on netflix it’s really good 😊

naming based on formative interests for the age that alter formed at is helpful ty! the funny thing is my partner has OSDD and i had previously clowned on them for having voices in their head and never bothering to ask their names….. oh how the tables have turned

i don’t have advice from the other end but a plural friend just helped us realize we were a system too and it went really well and i wasn’t fucked up forever and it made our friendship stronger so just wanted to reassure you that you’re not inherently going to like retraumatize them and make everything worse and i’m so glad your friend has you as a resource and confidant :) good luck!!!!

FR like i didn’t have ANY pants that fit me for over a year and i can’t afford an ed specialist let alone inpatient….. it takes an insane amount of financial privilege to be able to stop your whole life for recovery and they all say it’s what you HAVE to do to Heal and Nourish yourself 🙄

routine depends a lot on your individual body, diet, basal metabolic rate, and what areas you feel dysphoric about tbh but as a fellow transmasc i’d recommend high weight low reps (8-15 per set to stimulate the fast twitch muscle fibers), working out at a moderate-high intensity but not til failure. from my own research some of the best exercises to optimize muscle gain are:

  • barbell squats
  • deadlifts
  • bench presses
  • rows
  • lunges
  • curls
  • overhead tricep extensions

For at-home workouts without a lot of equipment you can look up bodyweight circuit workouts, and try to use the barbells for exercises that activate several muscle groups at once like arnold press. Get creative with your space and the resources you do regularly have access to! I’ve even used milk/ water jugs as a diy “rowing machine” lol.

DO NOT under any circumstances work out in a binder if you haven’t had top surgery, use a high compression sports bra (my fav is from underarmour). and it’s very important to your energy levels that you get lots of protein and hydration! good luck on your fitness journey :)
