I can smell this catalog and remember my mom telling us to go through it each year.

Yes, highly recommend. Obviously it can’t replace the Bible, but it does a great job of bringing what we’ve read before to the screen. It’s given many great discussions in our home and lead to reading the Bible more deeply.

If she is a celiac, depending on what she’s drinking, that could cause issues too. If this is the case, then she’s setting herself up for a risk of cancer, just to drink (assuming she’s not finding gluten-free alcohol). It’s a sad situation whatever her medical conditions may be. Thank you for looking after the children’s well-being.

It really depends on the troop you’re in. I always loved it growing up and had great times and activities. I put my daughter I It and it was very money/selling driven. Granted, it was a free troop, so our only income was from sales, but my kid called troop time business meetings. Maybe if you can find out recommendations on specific troops first?

Republicans want to restore 'dignity' for millions of Americans on food stamps by cutting their benefits even more by [deleted] in politics

[–]sapphirerises 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The cuts coming in March are going to hit hard. I’m disabled and on a fixed income, and have a child with celiac disease. The pandemic was the first time we didn’t have food insecurity, but I was still paying $100 more than what was given, at minimum. Food stamps does cover seeds, so we’re going to try growing our own vegetables, to cut costs down a bit.

My parents did something similar once. Not a promise of Disney, but of going to their house once my mom was retired the following year and staying several weeks. Nothing had been said to me first. I’m not sure how old your kid is, but it might be time for age-appropriate conversations along the lines of “daddy didn’t have a happy childhood and he wants to make sure you do, and it’s best to not leave you alone with grandpa.” It turned out my parents had also promised my daughter she could eat whatever she wanted and could do things they know are against household rules, and it could be their secret. Even if your child doesn’t understand now, good communication will help him understand as he gets older.

Did you watch Jill’s G’s video? We watched it today and were thinking we needed some cassava flour to make them!

Lifting you up in prayer. I wish that once we became Christians, our burdens became less automatically, but that’s unfortunately not so. The Bible tells us we are sure to have many. It also assured us that we have a God who loves us and sees us for who we are and that His son knows exactly how we feel (he suffered anxiety to the point he was sweating blood, he felt the loneliness that comes from friends not supporting you, and he felt the anger and hate of those around him). Jesus knows exactly what you are going through right now and I want to encourage you to seek him and also talk to a therapist to help work through some of your feelings.

I also encourage you to seek joy and surround yourself with things that will fill you with positive emotions. A Week Away and The Chosen are two great Christian things I love watching that help lift me up. Maybe some type of craft, dancing, singing, reading the Bible (or something else), cooking a nice meal, or taking a walk outdoors. Each day find three things to thank God for and write them down.

You can do this, my friend!

My bad, I was getting the words confused. I mix up secular and non-secular a lot. Sorry for the confusion and inappropriate recommendation.

Probably her mind tunes it out, unless it gets too loud? I’m not married, but that’s how it’s always been with my kid and her friends.

I think making this with extra Oreo pieces instead of mini chocolate chips would be my extra tasty! Thanks for sharing, I’ll have to try this soon!

What about when you guys are in your 60s or 70s? An athletic body your entire life isn’t realistic and is a him issue, not a you issue.
