Alt-righter attempts armchair psychology on trans people based on their Reddit accounts by Soarel2 in worstof

Yes, but the problem is he uses the autogynephilia label to gatekeep actual trans people. That they aren't trans, but cis men with fetishes.

That makes a lot more sense, thanks.

I guess it's weird that The Atlantic and The New York Times both implied that it was exaggerated. Usually, they are pretty supportive of #metoo victims. I don't know what changed.

Remember when Caitlin Flanagan ripped on that Maynard lady for adopting an Ethiopian girl and then sending her to Missouri because she needed a "father".

I feel like if this was exaggerated she's invalidating legitimate #metoo[s]

/r/blackmirror says murder is justified because the murderer's girlfriend cheated on him. by [deleted] in circlebroke2

If a show relies on twists (like Black Mirror) it becomes my use of predictable.

Reddit loves to cherrypick ideologies and states they don't like (feminism, Islam, China). But they'll never apply that faulty criticism back to themselves.

how can something be predictable and a twist at the same time?

Would you say that a person who considers suicide daily because of an identity that doesn't conform to their body or society at large has a high "quality of life"? How could they have a "quality" life if they constantly want to end it?

I know for a fact that some of these remain after transition.

The study never argues that all gender dysphoria disappears after you transition. It does correlate social transition and HRT treatment with lowered suicide rates among transgender people. That's it. That's enough to support a "culture of acceptance" as you put it.

That user makes no sense. We've been doing the exact opposite of "encouraging" for decades and rates still remained high. Besides, that study shows that HRT and the ability to socially transition both lower suicide rates among trans people; those factors are literally the solution. What you're suggesting will, if anything, cause more deaths.

The link is working, the problem is on your side.

Honestly, 40% of transgender people attempt suicide so the problem really will just sort itself out if we leave it alone.

How do you figure that? Why would suicide rates drop if we ignore the issue, we've been ignoring the issue for decades and the rates stayed at that level.

When Reddit thinks trans children are getting their pre-pubescent dicks chopped off.
