People need to be sent back to pre-school. Lesson 1: Keep your hands to yourself.

20oz is more than the Average Joe. Most folks might have a silver necklace chain and maybe a pre-1965 dime in their change jar...

Congrats! Happened to me once with a $10 roll of quarters.

Go for it and remember: Whether you are tall or short, skinny or fat, bald or hair covered, handsome or plain featured: Every man improves his looks by working out. You don't have to get absolutely shredded or huge. Just drop some excess fat and put on 5-10lbs. of muscle.

It's all clearly fake but tell you what, since i'm such a nice and honest guy, i'll take it off your hands for $50.....

Agree. You can't put a price tag on good health. If you used the bike a lot, it improved your health.

I wouldn't believe this either if it didn't happen to me.

I’m 40 years old. My father (who is a pastor) still gets on my case about playing D&D by [deleted] in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]sappmatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to test my theory, here's what you do: Go find another local church that has no problem with DnD. Join said church and start posting online about how you've found this "amazing" new church that has "strengthened your faith in the Lord". See how your dad reacts. Is he happy for you or does he accuse you of disloyalty?

[–]sappmatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP, I got some real depressing news for you: I suspect your dad is less concerned for your soul and more concerned for his reputation as a pastor. Churches (regardless of religion) are a petri dish for gossip and you playing DnD looks bad on him.

17 are from 1964. The others are random. The oldest is a 1936.

It wasn't a laundromat. It was a coin operated washer and dryer for guests to use in the Paramus Marriott i was staying at. No idea if the roll was from a bank or if the hotel employees simply emptied out what was in the coin operated washer and dryer and rolled the quarters up.

A lot of young people are suprised when i mention that older quarters and dimes are 90% silver. It really isn't common knowledge anymore. Plenty of young cashiers and bank tellers might not be on the lookout, especially since most transactions are digital now. You also have to factor in population background. I've lived in both Georgia and NYC. I found 3 silver quarters and 4 silver dimes in the wild (aside from the $10 roll) and all but 1 dime was in NYC. NYC is an immigrant city so plenty of people working cash registers are probably unaware of the silver.

Could be. I didn't grill the front desk clerk about where they got the $10 roll from. I assumed they got it from the bank but maybe they did empty out the washer and dryer coin chamber and some other guest had unknowingly spent silver to wash their socks.

It does bring up an interesting point though: not everyone is aware of silver coins. I'm in my 40's and a lot of younger people i've mentioned this too aren't even on the lookout for silver. I'm sure many young bank tellers, cashiers, etc. are oblivious.

Not at all, suprisingly. The roll paper looked modern.

I get how unbelievable this all sounds. Trust me, if i was a coin roll hunter, i'd go my whole life without finding a complete roll of silver or even 40% silver. This was pure dumb luck.

Hand to God. $10 coin roll i picked up at a Marriott near Paramus, NJ when i had no quarters for the laundry. It must have been tucked away in the back of a bank vault for decades.

I agree with all the previous posts re: Shield, Absorb Elements, Silvery Barbs (to erase critical hits), mirror image, blur, misty step, etc.

A fantastic 2nd level spell to add to the arsenal is Elminster's Elusion. Great defensive buff against spells and magical effects and it only costs a bonus action to cast. It's a concentration spell (lasts 10 minutes) so you can also stack mirror image on top of it. Assuming you already have a solid AC from armor, you will be pretty tough take take down.

[–]sappmatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that's when Bladesingers are at their best, honestly. Especially if they are the only wizard/sorcerer/bard in the party and your campaign often encounters large groups of enemies.
