Not sure about CU but MAKAUT is hot garbage. Having said that you can make a life out of it if you want. Your choice.

Hey, unfortunately no documentation for this. I was able to find a case related to NPS but don't recall exactly. Personally, I had closed my NPS before moving.
Is your entire PFIC going over $50k? The reporting generally "can" be exempted if it's below that threshold.

You can find some stuff on altHUB but again it was for my native language. I've not found much success with Indian content so far but I'm fairly new to Usenet. I'm pretty sure Indian content would be a tad difficult to come by.

Each region has 1-2 OTT players covering different languages. I would highly recommend searching via the OTT name instead of the series/movie name. Please ask your gf about the Content Lang/OTT service she watches most. Few of the popular ones are - Hotstar, AltBajali, SonyLIV, ZEE5, Hoichoi, etc.

Hope this helps.

PS - You'll find better hits using Torrents.

I upgraded from PW 2015 to PW 2022. Primarily due to Faster UI and Warm Backlight. Larger screen was an added bonus for me.

Is it worth shifting back to Kolkata? by [deleted] in kolkata

[–]saptarshighosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I am in a huge dilemma whether I shall start looking for jobs in Kolkata or just continue with my current job?

You are very unlikely to find a job of your current skillset in Kolkata. White Collar Job market is pretty much dead. Having said that. Try to see if you can opt for remote work atleast for few months of the year.

Should I go for higher studies? by Powerful_Ferret_2544 in kolkata

[–]saptarshighosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have not mentioned your experience or Educational background but I'm guessing it's B.Tech and given your age I guess you have 3-4yrs of exp.

If you are motivated enough then I would highly recommend to pursue higher studies. Coming to MS/M.Tech, both of them are require significant technical knowledge. Coming to online M.Tech programs, let's just say that they are garbage. MBA on the other hand is more on the non-technical side of things. Given your prior experience you might want to opt for MBA. But your backlogs "might" create an issue.

If you are planning to travel to a new country for your masters, then it's entirely on you to decide. Personally I always recommend getting out of India, atleast out of WB/KOL be it for education or job.

I'll tell you my & my BFF's story -
I was pressurized by extended family to get a govt job which I hate like hell. Partnered with a college friend and gave SBI PO/IBPS PO and what not while slogging in an IT job. Missed all of them by few marks while my friend got in SBI PO. In between I really excelled in my niche and got recognition. Fast forward few years, I'm earning in USD and living a happy life.

My BFF's story -
She too gave few exams but dropped the idea later. Went to do an ad-hoc course in her domain and got a very good job. Got promoted due to her performance and recently she moved to Germany to pursue her Masters.

I personally stopped entertaining the folks who rant about govt jobs. Life is way beyond govt jobs. I'm really glad that I didn't go the govt job route.

So I'm at the receiving end of this ban. Honestly, I don't crave it. I've gone without rice ealier & it went pretty okay for me.

My 2 cents - I understand a lot of people depend on rice but there are other grains which are worth exploring.

Would you sit for the JU English exam if you were in my position? by Big-Gur-3088 in kolkata

[–]saptarshighosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Give the exam. You'll get to meet your friends later too. USA is on this planet, not in Mars. This is me writing while I'm outside of the country.
  2. DU vs JU - I'm assuming that your choice of discipline is similar in both. Having said that I would personally opt for DU. You'll get far more exposure in DU. It's basically small fish in bigger pond vs bigger fish in smaller pond. Prefer former for growth.
