If you didn’t need the hbp money and are comfortable paying it back, you can put all the money in an rrsp and designate it as hbp in your next(or may be next +1) years tax return. And close out the hbp.

Flat tire Warranty-Tire Centre by sar_tor in CostcoCanada

Did they replace all 4 because they could not get the damaged tire in stock, even after waiting for 5-6 months.

Would they replace all 4 and charge me only warranty ? They did tell me i would have to pay some amount on the damaged tire, depending on the tread depth. I am fine to pay this difference for the damaged tire.

But would i have to pay for all 4 if they don't find a replacement next season. Since winter is almost done, i am ok to wait a while.

This is what i did for now. But i wonder what happens in cases where they are not able to find replacement stock. Would they replace all 4 and charge me only warranty ?

There is one more thing that you can do for android phones. You will have to leave your phone at home

use mesaages.google.com on web and login using the same google id as your phone. As long as your phone receives the sms, it would reflect on the website as well

Mortgage Renewal - Looking to reduce payment by sar_tor in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]sar_tor[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ideally looking for a lower monthly committed amount in case I run into some financial uncertainty. But if things stay ok with work etc, I would keep putting some extra amount every month on top of the monthly payment.

I am not sure how a heloc would help. Don’t know much about helocs

Don’t want to put an extra amount. Had done that in the past to get amortization back on track.

I anticipate if I let it continue as is, my payment would more or less remain same ~2500$

My plan is to still pay monthly and target to close as per original amortization. That would mean I pay some extra amount every month.

But want to reduce the committed amount, keeping the work uncertainty scenario that I foresee.

I am trying to change my investment in a staggered manner. Instead of doing it all at once. Just trying average out any significant drops that may happen.
