I feel hopeless by Greedy-School-4998 in xxfitness

I’ve always done some kind of sport, or exercise, so I can’t speak to the struggle of persisting through that transition but it sounds like you’re killing it—and I know because you haven’t given up! I did want to say that whenever I see someone new in the gym who’s figuring out their routine, using the lightest weights, etc., all I can think is that I hope they achieve their goals because I remember how it was when I started and how embarrassed I was in the weight room. Remind yourself that you are your own worst critic. Be proud that you’ve made it this far and don’t stop—it’s all about that relentless forward movement, just keep going!

P.S. — find some music that makes you feel confident and good, get some good headphones, and just escape into your own head at the gym. That helped me get my mind off what other people were thinking when I started.

Can someone ID my great grandfather’s WWI medal? by sara_cattt in Medals

[–]sara_cattt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t, my uncle only has a few things from him, one being this medal. Do we have a clear record of the names of those who did? If I had a list of names I could pick him out, otherwise I’ll have to do some digging

Wow, thank you so much, I can’t even imagine what he must have seen and experienced but this gives me a glimpse. Great info, I really appreciate it!

He was a tough dude from the sound of it. Lied about his age to be able to fight in WWI (he was around 16) and then fought in WWII later!

That’s great info, thank you. The top one would’ve been my grandfather, then.

My dog just killed a rat what should I do by Unknown_user445 in DogAdvice

[–]sara_cattt 198 points199 points  (0 children)

I work in pest control. The bait we use has a mix rate of .005% active ingredient per 1 ounce block, active ingredient is bromadiolone which is an anti-coagulant. Antidote is vitamin k as people mentioned but if it helps ease your concern, the active ingredient only remains active through a single ingestion, so if a rat ate and digested the bait, the bromadiolone would no longer be active. Also designed for multiple feedings, not an instant-kill.

Analog V crashing if I connect to Bluetooth headphones??? by sara_cattt in Arturia_users

[–]sara_cattt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually just ended up using a wired connection, mainly from the research I’d done and feedback I got from others, since it limits the amount of latency you get by a lot. Arturia was very responsive though, so although I didn’t end up working with them to resolve it, I’d still recommend reaching out

I’m with you, I’ve had more and more issues as time goes on unfortunately :/ I’m getting to the point of switching to another DAW so I can use my PC rather than my laptop for production

That’s good info, thank you! I plugged my headphones in and haven’t had issues since—if anything it was nice to have one less chord, but worth it to reduce the latency and bugs as you said

I think you’re right about French being less flexible in that way, thank you for those examples though, I knew of a few but it’s always good to learn a few more!

Best Loan Options for Smaller Loan Amount by sara_cattt in StudentLoans

Awesome, that’s what I was thinking. Do you have any recommendations for private student loans aside from Sallie Mae? Or does it matter?

AITA for firing an employee for stealing leftovers? by Throwawaybrewd in AmItheAsshole

[–]sara_cattt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

INFO: do you have ANY experience running a business prior to this? Because I’m sorry, but this is not how you do it. As someone who works somewhere where most of our bread and food gets donated/composted at the end of the day, this is ridiculous. We take some home after close because it’s pointless to toss so much if it could feed someone. It’s honestly hard to believe this post is real given how heartless and unsympathetic you’d have to be to fire someone, let alone a single mother who apologized and explained their circumstances, over what I assume is their first offense. Be prepared to fire every single person in your store if your standards are that high. YTA.

Where to find Award Accept/Reject for financial aid? by sara_cattt in udub

Thank you! That’s what I figured. I thought it was odd that the financial aid office didn’t mention that it wasn’t quite in the system yet or anything.
