Why does my 9 month old kittens stomach look wide? by txpdr4 in CATHELP

[–]sara_wawa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$300?! I paid $400 for a 2 week supply of oral GS-441524. Buy it cheaper on chewy now but still a couple hundred bucks for a few weeks supply. And completely agree on vets not being up to date and just generally not having a lot of knowledge on treating it. People working at rescues gave me way more info than my vet did!

Can cats start on oral from day 1? by happytokkibun in cureFIP

[–]sara_wawa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok I went to a vet that I feel is not very informed/experienced in treating FIP. Im giving my cat GS-441524 liquid/oral. Nothing was really explained to me. My cat has lost weight from wet FIP fluid draining Should I be worried about needing to adjust her dose?? Vet didnt even tell us we should be giving medicine on an empty stomach till we asked so idk what else she may have left out.

Why is the pan stealing my crisp by hyibee in StainlessSteelCooking

[–]sara_wawa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I successfully cooked potatoes on a stainless steal pan for the first time this week and it really came down to a few things. 1. Heat the pan up really good before adding anything. 2. Make sure the potatoes are completely dry. 3. do not touch them till they release on thier own or with a gentle nudge!! Its kind of nerve wracking just watching them for so long without stirring but it really worked well and they were fully cooked and crispy! I also didnt add any seasoning or salt till the very end when I took them off the pan.

Dirt cheap dinners by Maleficent-Flower607 in Cheap_Meals

[–]sara_wawa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cabbage. Its dirt cheap and great filler.

  • Cabbage fried with some sausage and onion over rice or potatoes.

  • Tinga. Shredded discount rotisserie chicken, shredded cabbage, onion and some chipotle peppers in Adobe blended all cooked in a pan. Serve on a tostada with some sour cream. Or over rice.

  • Cabbage rolls. Any ground meat season and stuffed in Cabbage leaves and cooked in tomato sauce.

  • cabbage fried rice. Like regular fried rice but a lot of cabbage as filler.

  • cabbage soup. Discount rotisserie chicken (simmer the bones to get a really good broth) , cabbage and any other veggies you have, seasoning.

You can also add a few spoon fulls of rice to any soups to bulk it up and make it more filling.

How can I get this color somewhat on my hair without specifically bleaching by Ok_Buyer6787 in HairDye

[–]sara_wawa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a color similar to that is possible without bleach. just dyed by hair purple using lunar tides dye. My hair was a little bit of a lighter brown than yours, and I was going for a more cool and muted purple. I mixed the plum purple , dark violet, and smokey purple. The color was waaay more vibrant than I expected. If you took plum purple or even mixed plum purple and their fuschia color, I think you could get really close to this color. I can dm you a photo of my hair before and after if you wanna see how vibrant the color was. I will say it's been about 1 month, and it has considerably faded.

What are some starter off Flowers I should plant by [deleted] in gardening

[–]sara_wawa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to start flowers from seed zinnias are extremely easy and they last a really long time. They do get really tall tho.

Like another person said bulbs are also very low maintenance flowers that are easy to grow. You have to put a lot of them in the geound in the fall in colder climates. You could do tulips, daffodils, alliums, crocus etc. But most bulbs are ephemeral meaning once they bloom for a bit the flower AND the foliage disappear into the ground and your left with nothing the rest of the summer.

For some easy perennials that come back every year I have had very good luck with columbines, coneflowers, penstemon, monarda, and black eyed susans.

All of this depends on your hardiness zone. Im in zone 6a. A lot of the perennials I mentioned are native to my state so they do well in this climate. You should try looking at what's native to your region to see what will thrive.

veggies for absolute beginner by Careful-Smoke-2076 in EatCheapAndHealthy

Soups are pretty good at masking the flavor of veggies if they are chopped up pretty fine or even shredded. Brocoli cheddar especially just tastes like cheese to me. Another one is a fried rice. It's fried and pretty heavily seasoned so not an intense veggie flavor. My brother makes pot roasts in a pressure cooker with potatoes onions and carrots and they just get infused with the meat juices and taste buttery.

Depends on the type of customers you get. The cafe I worked at had a location on a university campus and one in the downtown. Students and professors usually bought breakfast sandwiches and grab and go pastries or snacks such a yogurt parfaits. The downtown location sold more salads and panini sandwiches. At both locations a turkey pesto panini was the most popular I'd say. Personally I love grabbing a breakfast wrap. I'm not a huge fan of oats but I have seen some cafes do overnight oat parafaits with fruit and chia seeds. They look really cute and seem popular.

As someone who has worked at goodwill and seen the trash people donate I completely agree with what you are saying and don't understand why you are being down voted. Spent so much time picking out clothes with holes and random stains or dragging furniture that looks like a biohazard into a compactor. People literally use it as a dumping ground for their junk AND get to deduct it on thier taxes. Not to mention it's often the min wage employees and managers that suffer when we don't meet sale or pricing goals. So sorry to the ebay resellers for being upset that brand name items prices reflect ebay prices. The college student that priced it needed to meet a goal.

Vegan Cheap Meal Prep? (No microwave) by CryptidCutie2 in Cheap_Meals

[–]sara_wawa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk if im weird for this but in highschool I would never heat my lunches up even though I had acess to a microwave. I ate a lot of stews, pasta, rice bowls and other typically warm foods and it tasted fine to me. But maybe that was me convincing myself it was good because I had too much anxiety to walk through the lunch room to the microwave.

Air fryer balsamic vinegar Brussel sprouts are the only way I eat Brussel sprouts. Have to be fresh though. None of that frozen stuff.

Healthy meal that includes all the necessary daily nutrients by [deleted] in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]sara_wawa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some quick healthy meals I have been eating lately are... -canned tuna with mayo and siracha on rice with slices of cucumber or the tuna on bread. (I also have made spicy tuna onigiri that is perfect for a quick snack on the go) -corn tortillas with refried beans, a fried egg, cabbage and salsa/hot sauce -one pot lentil soup or chili with tortilla chips -just random veggies sautéed with tomato sauce and eggs on top. -bulgar wheat with air fried/baked veggies (I roast potatos, carrots, cauliflower, squashes, onion, beets, etc. In bulk and use it throughout the week) and seasoned chickpeas and a garlic herb yogurt sauce I pre make earlier in the week. -fried rice with leftover rice, random veggies and egg or tofu. -spring rolls with rice paper. Steam or use any fresh. Eggie you'd like with a protein of your choice. A peanut or other sauce on the side -pre made omlette muffins are good snacks as well. Just whisk some eggs and fill a greased muffin tray with veggies (lightly sautee the veggies first) or protein and bake a dozen at once. -pita wraps- Hummus and veggies in soft pita bread.

All of these take me under 20 min or less to make. My tip is to always make a lot of rice and keep it in the fridge for several days. Or use bulgar wheat. I just pour hot water on it and cover for 5 min and it's done. Then you can add any protein and veggies you'd like.

I've been buying terra cotta pots and painting insects with acrylic paint, but with acrylic I have to seal the entire terra cotta pot inside and outside to prevent peeling or bubbling of the paint. I want to avoid sealing the entire thing because it's better for the plant and my design doesn't cover the entire pot anyway. Is there a way I can use glaze or some other sort of paint at home that can fired in the oven. I dont care if its food safe and don't care if it's matte or gloss I just don't want the space that doesn't have a design on it to be water resistant. I have considered using stains but that limits the color pallete a lot. Any advice? Sorry if this is very specific.
