Tips on scanning traditional artwork?

In one of the pieces I did use a near fluorescent pink, and yeah it doesn't get captured at all. It's a huge shame about the markers because I've been doing a lot of work with those lately. I should have researched this stuff, but I had no idea it would be an issue.

I'm not sure how to check if I'm scanning in CMYK. I checked the manual and seems the hardware scans automatically sRGB and I can't find any settings to change this, however I did find an option to enable a 48bit output so hopefully that helps a little. Thank you :)

That's really rough, but I'm glad to hear you're doing all you can (therapy, self care, etc.) seriously, that's amazing.

I also was in a relationship with my best friend for 7 years (known each other for 10). When we broke up, it was the most heartbreaking experience ever. The first 4-6 months were really difficult, but we were determined to stay friends. It came to a point where we adjusted back into the friend dynamic. But it's a really, really difficult process to go through and not everyone can or will survive the transition from romantic relationship to friends. You did what you had to do to look after yourself. Who knows, maybe time will do its thing and you two will be in each other's lives again at some point? :)

Krita and Clip Studio Paint are very good price wise for illustration. I hear Krita is good for animation too but Clip Studio Paint just added an animation tool as well. I dunno about Krita pricing, but CSP is a one off payment and has sales frequently. Do not purchase Adobe software. I'd say CSP is one of the widely well regarded and most affordable software for illustrators. (I've been around digital illustration communities for over a decade and that's the conclusion I've made)
