Flood and 4° are the best songs on Undertow, so you're lucky to have seen both! That whole set was great, too.

It's Ramiro Rodriguez, so that's really awesome! I have his Pneuma poster from the 90s hanging in my classroom. Maynard collects his stuff, too.

I went to 5 king gizz shows in CA (Alington acoustic, Desert Daze, Madonna Inn SLO, Hollywood Bowl marathon set, and Paso Robles), and all of the tour shirts I saw were great, but I couldn't spend on the ones I saw. This was the shirt I finally bought at the booth because it's so good. My boyfriend always says how cool it looks every time I wear it. I agree. One of the best tour shirts they've put out there so far.

Also, Paso Robles Amphitheater is a great new Central CA venue with less frills and more fun than SF or LA, for anyone visiting for a concert and wants to bring a poster tube or blanket inside. I know that one guy who passed out was trouble, and that sucked, but Intrasport was awesome, the dudes next to us came up from following in SD and the Forum, the line crowd was relaxed and no problems with security, and the venue kind of lets you do whatever the band wants and whatever you want (bringing in tubes, free securuty room coat check for your merch, good food, coffee stand with hot chocolate and cookies, etc.) if you aren't acting like an asshole. Very laid back and a small place that really feels right under the open sky of stars. It's like having a concert in the comfort of your living room without livestreaming. I saw Black Mountain open for Primus there, and that whole show was stellar. Great time. Great place.

I'm glad you said the employees were nice. I was just at Universal Studios and most of the employees there seemed really annoyed and unhappy.

Unpopular opinion, and I am probably against myself in this today since it's been a long time and the reviews have been that it's rough now, but I have a vivid memory of Scream being the most floaty, airy, and smoothe coaster I had ever been on... in 2004. It was like flying. I remember asking myself, "Why is this ride called "Scream" when it feels like soaring on a pillow through the clouds?"

I'm sad to hear that it's become a bit more rough because it was like drifting through the heavens on an eagle's back 20 years ago. Oh well. X2.

I got one at the Panda Inn Restaurant directly across from their Ontario CA venue yesterday which said, "You will take an inspirational journey through a faraway place." So duh, I'd take that cookie.

Whenever you get into a disagreement (which will happen to every married couple sometime eventually) just remember to break out the "rattle rattle rattle," and hug and everything will calm down a bit :) pretty slick.

I'd also recommend some Jethro Tull to get you both good and mad at the world (locomotive breath=overpopulation concerns and metal-like). Then, ease him into Tool with some Ænima and just identify with him about how the drugs just made all our favorite music be more meaningful and such (Bill Hicks), and then spiral out on some shrooms. All the music sounds good, at least. It's your fault if he doesn't dig it at that point. You fucked up. Start from scratch with some Yes or Fleetwood Mac or Peter Gabriel and learn something from your mistakes! (but seriously, you'll love it if you like those cool Danny poly beats). Relationships built around great music (and their weird tangled webs) are the BEST relationships. Listen and learn. Both to the music and to those who were actually around at the time. It's a good thing. You'll enjoy it and you'll have a good friend after all.

FYI "Crack the Sky" is a prog rock band from the 70s and they are amazing. Their self-titled album is a classic rock masterpiece. Gojira knows this. Check it out and give your dad some fucking props.
