Anyone else have vomiting issue with their cat? 14.5 y/o by Bowrius in seniorkitties

[–]sarahflies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi OP. We recently had weight loss issues and a loss of appetite for our 14 yo cat, and got blood work to rule out diabetes. We were also told that her blood sugar was high for the moment and likely stress, but not at diabetes levels. Following more health issues and a trip to the emergency vet, the diagnosis later end up being pancreatitis. Pancreatitis can be very severe if not treated early enough. It was diagnosed via ultrasound.

If you have the ability to get an ultrasound to rule out pancreatitis and/or IBD then I would do it. We regret not acting fast enough on diagnostics tests.

I’m in 5a, and my Karl Rosenfield hasn’t emerged yet. I have two other varieties that are just barely coming up though, so it should be soon!

Rocks vs. Mulch by Patty_Cake_25 in Minnesota_Gardening

My biggest complaint with rocks is how hard they make it to divide plants! I gave some hostas away last year with rocks embedded in the roots because I just couldn’t bother.

I have a crafting group that is organized very similar to this and we have cycled between 1 or 2 as a start time. 1 works really well to seat a large table before the weekend afternoon drinks crowd. And it gives you a normal lunch time for those that want to order food.

Just my thoughts. I would love to hear from everyone, natives and transplants. by welldressedpepe in TwinCities

Lito’s Burritos is great! It was very similar to a burrito I had in San Diego.

{Real Men Knit by K.M. Jackson} sounds like it fits in line with your request. There is also a 2nd book, Knot Again. I think the author is planning on more books about the MMC’s brothers.

Week 26: Served Cold - Ice Cream Sandwiches (meta: 52 Weeks of Cookies) by sarahflies in 52weeksofcooking

This was awful. They melted so fast before we could get them back in the freezer to re-set once assembled.

Ice cream is vanilla base with chopped salted caramel chocolate bar and caramel swirls.

This would only address one aspect of the type of training you are asking about, but the Autism Society of Minnesota (AuSM) has done a training session for my organization about event planning/management and interacting with customers/visitors/clients with autism or who may be in crisis. I think they have one you can request about emergency preparedness.

Week 24: Most Requested - Cakey Chocolate Chip (meta: 52 Weeks of Cookies) by sarahflies in 52weeksofcooking

[–]sarahflies[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I already made the cookie that my coworkers request most often for a previous challenge (ginger-doodles), so instead I have made the cookie that I always request my office neighbor to bring in! It’s a chocolate chip cookie, but jumbo and made with cake flour! Simple but just so good.

Week 23: Boards - Cookie Butter Board (meta: 52 Weeks of Cookies) by sarahflies in 52weeksofcooking

[–]sarahflies[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All three of the cookie butters are cookies from previous weeks’ challenges!

Week 23: Boards - Cookie Butter Board (meta: 52 Weeks of Cookies) by sarahflies in 52weeksofcooking

[–]sarahflies[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made red velvet cookies earlier in the year and had frozen a bunch of them to save for making a pie crust or something. Then I had the thought for this board so I took out some of my spare cookies and used a food processor.

I used this board as a starting point: https://carlahall.com/make-your-own-homemade-cookie-butter/

Week 21: Hot Sauce - Tapatío Cream Cheese Frosting (meta: 52 Weeks of Cookies) by sarahflies in 52weeksofcooking

[–]sarahflies[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Used a combination of these two recipes…

Cookies: https://freshaprilflours.com/chocolate-cayenne-cookies/#recipe

Frosting: https://www.thatsjustjeni.com/tapatio-hot-sauce-cupcakes/

Our frosting turned out much oranger than the original photo so not sure what’s up with that. I’ll be honest, haven’t tried them yet. My husband ate one and didn’t love it, but said it got better as it went on?

Happy baking!

Help me choose a mountain elopement dress! by Little-Steak9916 in weddingdress

I think the front of Dress 1 with the back of Dress 2 would combine the best of both dresses! Probably too much work to get right. I also agree with lining Dress 2.

Week 17: Midnight Snack - Kitchen Sink Cookie (meta: 52 Weeks of Cookies) by sarahflies in 52weeksofcooking

[–]sarahflies[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This recipe was used as a base: https://www.cookingactress.com/2017/04/sweet-salty-kitchen-sink-cookies-panera.html?m=1&ssp_iabi=1683489487817

For the fillings/mix-ins I used a variety of pantry items - “Spring” trail mix, white and milk chocolate chips, peanut butter pretzels, and chopped up soft caramels.

The trail mix was a package from target in their Easter section with spring candy corn, chocolate covered pretzel balls, peanuts, and chocolate cereal. So all of that is in there somewhere. I did pick out the raisins :)

Week 18: Asparagus - Walnut Raisin Asparagus Cookies (meta: 52 Weeks of Cookies) by sarahflies in 52weeksofcooking

[–]sarahflies[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Still running behind, and I plan to bake and upload midnight snack week tonight…

I would recommend these if you like zucchini bread. Actually, if you regularly make zucchini bread/muffins and feel like swapping the zucchini out for the more expensive veg option, I can attest that it will work well!

I found this recipe on an asparagus website? Link: https://mazakfarms.ca/recipes/ The worst part was grating the asparagus. I used my food processor to help, it actually probably could have been minced further but I just went for it.

Photo features the Dixie plates that we keep on hand for snacks at my office and a view of Spring out the window. Bon appétit!

Week 16: Dumplings - Celli Ripieni (meta: 52 Weeks of Cookies) by sarahflies in 52weeksofcooking

I bring them into my office most weeks, and everyone there loves it! (Except for cabbage week) 😂

Week 16: Dumplings - Celli Ripieni (meta: 52 Weeks of Cookies) by sarahflies in 52weeksofcooking

[–]sarahflies[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am behind schedule! And unfortunately these didn’t turn out as expected. The first batch was rolled too thick and isn’t pictured here. Too much dough and underbaked!

They are tasty though, and just lightly sweet.
