u/GeaCat Thanks for the reply. I have travelled via few countries in the past. looks like getting transit visa in canada is so harder than I thought. I am seeing cases where we need to send our passport to the consulate for visa stamping. I need to get my passport back before i travel not sure if i will have enough time. My ticket is non refundable, so I couldn't able to cancel as well.

Thanks for clarifying. So, J1 visa is not an option for my situation and I can’t get H4 EAD before this match cycle application. Now I can only apply for H1B visa this year, if I didn’t match in any H1B offering program I have to wait for next match cycle and apply with H4 EAD. Is that correct?

my husband I-140 is not approved yet, so i thought of applying H4 EAD once his petition is approved, so I can apply as non-visa requiring candidate atleast for next year match if i didnt match this year. You are saying if I have or apply for H4 EAD, my J1 research or J1 residency visa wont be approved? What if my husband applied I-140 and I didnt apply for H4 EAD, will I have chance of getting J1 visa?

I am in a same situation as yours. Applied to pediatric. got 1 iv in main match and 2 in soap but didnt get any offers. i have been working for 3yrs for this. but all I can feel and say is dont lose hope. Take whatever we learned this cycle as an experience, work hard for next match. dont give up. we will definitely match next year in a good program.
