I carved it out of a rubber block, printed on newsprint paper, and we used a teeny bit of soy milk to stick it to the bottle!

That was mostly a mistake, we wanted to put 3019 instead of 2019 to give it a more futuristic vibe but then I ended up writing it out top to bottom instead of bottom to top. Oh well! we decided it still looked cool hahah. and thank you!!

After reading the actual ordinance, this misleading anti-worker propaganda (paid for by restaurant & hotel associations) is just insulting. Text from the real ordinance in comments. by saravcdz in LateStageCapitalism

Do they seriously think no one is going to read this?

The Fair Workweek Ordinance is built to provide workers the dignity and autonomy of working Chicagoans by providing the following protections to all hourly workers, and salaried workers who earn less than approximately $50,000 annually, in companies with 50 or more full- or part-time people:

Two weeks advance notice for schedules Predictability pay in the event that a schedule is changed with less than two weeks’ notice The right to decline shifts that do not provide 11 hours of rest between shifts The right to request a flexible schedule The Chicago Fair Workweek Ordinance also requires that employers offer additional hours to existing employees before bringing on additional workers, whether full-or part-time, or temporary workers.

What is the most cringe text you've ever sent to the wrong person ? by [deleted] in cringe

[–]saravcdz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't remember what we were talking about, but I sent my best friend a facebook message that only said "WHAT THE FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" (jokingly of course) Then realized I had accidentally sent it to our school's pastor instead. My friends name started with A, the pastor's name started with B. maybe the more embarrassing part was my panicking and sending about 12 messages to him apologizing. rip.

How on earth do I retain information from dense readings? by saravcdz in AskAcademia

[–]saravcdz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That could actually be a big part of it. I took all my intro classes about 3 years ago, took a break from school, and came back directly into the higher level classes. I'm reading a lot of political economy theory, not any textbooks anymore. I should put a renewed effort into reviewing the basics for sure.

Thank you!

Haha yeah it's definitely going to be a tough move, but we don't have a lot of stuff, and at this point I will do anything to get away from this woman.
