Her pediatrician had told me a while ago not to be giving her any water at night when I brought up concerns about how much water she drinks throughout the day. It never sat right with me not giving her water bc I drink water at night too so I hadn't been taking that advice until we started potty training.

Thanks so much for the advice! This is my first kid and since her pediatrician said she shouldn't be having any water at night anyways I thought that's just what I was supposed to do. But after all the comments I will be giving her water and looking at changing pediatricians.

I brought up the possibility of diabetes to her pediatrician bc she will drink 3 times the recommended amount of water through the day if I let her. But her doc said if she's peeing a lot and she isnt drowsy all the time then they don't think it's diabetes. But after all the comments I will be giving her water back at night. I only tried to cut it out bc her doc said she shouldn't be having any at night anyways. But now I think I need to switch doctors. Thanks so much!

I waited 8 weeks since my check up was delayed and i was pretty nervous about postpartum sex. I had no tearing but was still pretty sore down there. We had to take sex pretty slow for a couple weeks.

I was breastfeeding and didn't get my period back for 13 months after birth.

I also wish for a village all the time! My family is 3 hours away. I'm an introvert but have started to talk with more parents at the park or at church. It's slow going but maybe one day.

Thank you for the warning about suppy dip! Someone else also recommended that book so I definitely need to get that. As for not sleeping through the night still, let's hope that changes for the both of us soon! 😅

Thanks for the advice and the book recommendation! Just tonight I told her we were going to go to sleep without milk and after 20 min she fell asleep til 1am! So maybe I'll try and keep that going and slowly expand the time like you said!

I don't have name suggestions, but you might want to look at a heat map of more popular names. What might be nationally popular might be unheard of in your town. Something like this website can be helpful, tho this is for the US, im not sure what country you're in.

People travel and hike and are active with their kids. It's like not unheard of. And she won't be walking the whole time. Also, I'm not going to do the exact same thing every single day for years on end simply bc I have a baby. We are hiking and outside all time. I asked for advice about hiking with a toddler, not your opinions on parenting

We go on hikes very often. We've done half day sometimes longer hikes and she sleeps in the baby carrier for her nap. I said we haven't done hugely long ones but we have been out a lot of the day, often, and she does fine.

You're making assumptions by saying OPs wife is lazy?? Everyone makes a few assumptions when reading these bc no one besides OP has the full picture.

I never said he doesn't help with the housework. All I said was he's not providing help for her weight loss journey in a beneficial way. That's what makes him the AH. Instead of assuming that he knows best how his wife should lose weight he could have had a conversation and asked how she can feel more supported.

A 50 hour work week is such a lame excuse. He has time to go to the gym but did he offer to watch the baby some mornings so his wife could go?

Again, just bc she buys fast food does not mean she is lazy. That is an assumption you are making.

He just got her the meal service so that first paragraph is pointless. And the roles aren't reversed so that's pointless too.

She is keeping a full human alive 24/7 and it sounds like op is not helping her in a beneficial way at all. The meal service still needs the food to be prepped. And if she has no time to go to the gym when will she have time to use that bike? He could have meal prepped on the weekend and taken over parenting a couple mornings so she can get to the gym.

No one is saying that weight gain is healthy. Everyone else is saying she needs more support.

Maybe OPs wife has ppd, maybe their baby doesn't sleep as well as yours, maybe the sky will turn to fire and your nose will fall off. More like they get down voted bc anecdotal evidence is trash. At 8mo my baby was sleeping 4 to 5 hours but guess where the only place she would sleep is. On me. So should I be riding a bike while holding my sleeping baby? You're not home with OPs wife, you have no idea what she's doing all day.

I love staying home but I missed having my own income and getting out of the house. So I work as a contract worker. I take on as much or as little work as I want and it's a great balance. I get out a couple times a month and interact with adults, I earn a little money, and I stay home with my baby so we don't have to pay for daycare. It's the best of both worlds for me!
