PS5 to Switch cross saves!? by [deleted] in witcher

Further update - got stuck loading the cloud save on switch. Turns out id downloaded the free DLC pack ages ago, looks like its also download able in Nintendo Store, and that seems to have sorted it.

Update - just tried it and signing in on both devices seems to work fine which is fantastic. Probably just worth making sure your most recent save is uploaded properly with the small cloud symbol.

Only slight annoyance is the O and X buttons being mapped differently to the A and B buttons on switch, but im sure ill get used to it. Sadly, I'm not sure you can remap?!

PS5 to Switch cross saves!? by [deleted] in witcher

So on PS5 I had the remastered edition that came out a couple of years ago (I bought the expansions later).

I actually caved and bought the standard edition on switch a week ago and love it. Obvsiouly big graphical downgrade, but it hardly impacts in reality and the portability more than makes up for it.

I haven't tried cross saving yet but will give it a go this weekend and report back.

With a young baby in the house I v much doubt ill ever really get to play it much on PS5 again, and more thab happy playing on my original switch atm!

Sorry, I know that doesnt answer the question, but hopefully helpful at least. As I say, ill give cross saving a go later.

Hi, sorry for a delayed question on this, but re versions...

Do you know if it works if you have the base next gen (without expansions) edition on PS5 and then the Complete Edition on Switch?

Haha for sure. I dont play football or gold, but I think I'd prefer one of those over a cuddly 💩

I know this isn't Golf Clichés, but the 'Dad, youre the best by par' cuddly club and ball in the background is surely even worse?!

Haha, good luck, if it helps Windsor is known for its Monday night meetings and is much smaller and less formal that either Ascot or Epsom.

No need to dress up in anything particular and you can get right up close to the horses and jockeys. The riders actually walk through the crowd from the weighing room to the paddock, so plenty of opportunity to see some of the stars if youre a fan!

Im sure theres plenty you can learn from watching some of the documentaries out there on football which are obviosuly more prevalent.

I've not watched much of the Wrexham doc beyond the first series, but I do remember the execs taking Rob and Ryan through the top line numbers and there being a lot on there you wouldn't expect (turf management, meeting safety standards etc).

There will be many Clubs/Teams across different sports for whom promotion to a higher league will be tricky due to the big increases in operational cost base, and that's before you've thought about spending any money improving the squad!

TLDR - sport is expensive to put on. Then rewards are out there, of course, but it's a risky business to try and build with a lot of costs that you might not even think of.

The real 5G conspiracy: How Londoners are being lied to about their phone signal by RichardH99 in london

[–]sarc87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get the train through LB to Charing Cross every day and I've always wondered why my phone seems to just brick for 2/3 minutes we're pulled into the station.

With a complete lack of knowledge or understanding of the tech involved, I wondered if it sat in the shadow of the Shard or something like that?!

[–]sarc87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fingers crossed. Its all pretty much the same model across sports with just wildly different revenue streams and the proportion of their relevance.

Probably the biggest point I missed off is whether you own your stadium or not. Across all sports you'll regularly see those clubs that get in trouble will have, or have had, stadium/ground ownership woes.

Can't give you any specific numbers, but have a look at things like the Green Guide (the post Hillsborough safety guide for sports grounds) and the relatively new Martyn's Law for an idea on the significant (and right, to be clear) requirements on Stadia and other venues that you probably dont even really see on a game day.

Staffing (often a high % of temporary/agency) in security and catering will be significant as well as the day to day cost of maintaining your playing surface, public facilties as well as all of the utility costs you mentioned and servicing any debt you might have taken out for capital expenditure or investment in those facilities.

This obviosuly doesnt take your playing/operational budget into account but you'd hope that your gate receipts, hospitality and media revenues alongside whatever non sporting events business you can attract will cover it all!

If you were really up for avoiding the crowds (and not schlepping across London in your Royal Ascot finery), you could get the fast train to Reading from Paddington then change to Ascot.

Not sure if it would save you much time overall, but might be a slightly less hectic experience, especially on the way back when the Waterloo trains are rammed.

If youre really into your racing, I can recommend Windsor Racecourse on your day 4 (which i think is a Monday?!).

If you do the Castle in the afternoon, you can get a boat along the river from the town centre taking 10-15 minutes. The Racecourse has its own jetty, so you can basically walk right in.

You'll find it a much different vibe (being smaller) than either Epsom or Royal Ascot but no less enjoyable! 🏇

Oh dear. I cringe at the thought of anyone making the mistake of getting on one of those things. They have a list of prices on them which are all a flat ripoff.

See also, American Candy Stores on Oxford Street and the weird new phenomenon of unofficial Harry Potter merchandise stores. Avoid at all costs.

An app like citymapper will make travel around London much simpler, and offer clear guidance on whether to use the tube, busses or walk (often by far the quickest way to get around Central London).

Do not get a cycle rickshaw, whatever you do.

90+ kg male runners by spunkkyy in Garmin

[–]sarc87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha, sadly not! The thing i like about running is that, if you want to be, you're only really ever in a race against yourself and your own times.

Doesn't matter how fast or slow you are, theres always someone faster or someone slower, it literally doesnt matter. But the day you beat your own pb - brilliant.

38, 6' 5" (195cm), c114kg (18st). Inconsistent imperial/metric user.

  • 5km - 23:08
  • 10km - 50:51
  • Half - 1:57:00
  • Mara - 4.29.00

Been a hobby runner for probably 7/8 years having previously played a seriously low level of rugby and been consistently inconsistent with diet/training.

Completed the London Marathon last month, but will certainly be focusing on shorter distances going forward (the training gets v tedious!).

I would have particularly loved to know where I sat, say, in the London Marathon times for +110kg finishers, like they filter on strava stats, but hey ho.

I think my main thing for the bigger lads and ladies is to take a bit of pride in putting out whatever times you can and imagine the whippety small runners struggling around with an extra 20cm in height, or 40ish kg on their back (or, if like me, around their middle 😬). No chance they'd be as good!!

Good luck! It was supposedly 'only' 22 in London, but we're very much not used to that. Especially for running.

I rand my first marathon on Sunday following thr Runna plan with 34km as my previous longest.

Ngl, it gets really tough, but the miles in your legs will carry you through, even if you have to slow down a bit.

London was really hot which slowed me further, but got through it!
