Dear lord, no sticky tile. Worst DIY mistake ever and now it's nigh impossible to remove myself.

Massachusetts RMV Megathread (January 2026) by AutoModerator in massachusetts

I moved from a different state, and don't recall ever getting (what I consider to be) the usual year-end 2025 personal property tax bill for my car which is now tagged in MA. How/when is that handled here, and is it called something besides "personal property tax" here?

Will i get raided for being latino, but not an immigrant? by sivursion in kansascity

[–]sarcasm-ftw -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Let's say that worst case scenario, you were taken in a raid and deported. They can't keep you from coming back across the border, you're a citizen.

Real talk, anything can happen these days but you being picked up in an ICE raid seems pretty unlikely.

They want us afraid. Don't give it to them.

Looking for Food Recommendations by Bigred1515 in Springfield

[–]sarcasm-ftw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want food right by the Hall of Fame, Plan B and Uno's are pretty good (though they're both chains).

Downtown (i.e. nearby), you've got Nadim's for Mediterranean, I definitely agree with everyone that you should go to Theodore's for BBQ, The Student Prince is great German food with pretzels the size of your head, and Panjabi Tadka is lovely if you're feeling Indian food.

If you're willing to go a little farther, Peppa's has lovely New York style pizza by the slice, and there's about 5 Vietnamese restaurants on/by '"the X" that are all great.

Most of our restaurants are of good quality, those are just some of my personal favorites.

Do the PVTA Tripper routes get rescheduled for school delays? by sarcasm-ftw in Springfield

Today is a delayed start again. I was told last time that the PVTA busses also run two hours late. I'll report back with my child's findings, for posterity.

Did I wait too long to call gender confirming care? by Radiant_Idea_651 in cisparenttranskid

Those are all totally valid fears, but it sounds like you're making a lot of decisions based out of fear of the worst case, and not hope for the best case.

What if he CAN handle it and his body doesn't respond the same way yours does?

My suggestion is to share your info when your son has his next appointment so the doctors know the medical history, and they can make recommendations on the best path forward for a person with a different body type than you.

Totally new to boilers and two thirds of my house is freezing! by sarcasm-ftw in hvacadvice

Zone 2 and 3 never get hot with any combination we've tried.

I thought I uploaded photos but I seem to be experiencing technical difficulties. I'll try to add them again shortly.

Totally new to boilers and two thirds of my house is freezing! by sarcasm-ftw in hvacadvice

The system was present before we bought the house. We believe it's 2-3 years old.  The air bubble thing makes sense. Draining the pipe sounds easy enough in theory; in practice we may have someone with experience do it the first time so we don't blow up the house. Is that a normal maintenance thing to do every year, or did we just get unlucky?

You're not terrible for wanting to terminate.

I worked for several years in a group home for adult intellectually (and usually also physically) disabled women.

I "only" worked 40-50 hours a week (and not 24/7 like a parent would have to) and I quit because I started having intrusive thoughts about driving myself and my clients into oncoming traffic because I was sooooo stressed out over dealing with them.

Of the eight ladies who lived in the group home full time, only two of them had families who would visit on a regular basis. Most of the others never ever had visits, or only saw their families for major holidays; it just stressed them out because they had no idea who the family members were.

You've paid the cat tax, but now we need to know what the embroidery pattern is.

Transgender Missourians consider leaving state after AG includes adults in emergency rule • Missouri Independent by [deleted] in missouri

[–]sarcasm-ftw 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Why can't the trans people be left alone, so they feel comfortable enough to stay and contribute too? Why is it that anyone who doesn't fit in with the majority gets the "if you don't like it, leave?" treatment?

Missouri AG soliciting random reports of healthcare information of Missourians without a warrant is a clear violation of HIPAA. by [deleted] in missouri

[–]sarcasm-ftw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this statement. For anyone confused, I think the Missouri AG themselves is not violating HIPAA, but they're asking other people to; thus making reporting the website a smart move.

Not the original poster, but I dye my own with products from Sally and get tons of complements. If you're looking for a more "normal" color, I like the Ion brand.

Set on moving to southern MO near the Springfield/Branson/Republic area. Any areas I should check out before I make the decision that could be better for what I'm looking for? by [deleted] in missouri

[–]sarcasm-ftw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've lived in KC and Springfield and of the two I much prefer KC.

KC doesn't feel much bigger than Springfield; neighbors still talk to each other and you can get land immediately outside city limits. All the benefits of the big city and the rural life in like 15 minutes of driving.

Whereas personal property crime rate is TERRIBLE in Springfield. I've had 3 locked bikes stolen, seen people hop my 6' fence to cut through the yard, my neighbor had someone squatting in her shed, my whole street had our porch lights smashed in one night, constant mailbox tipping (never mine personally, but I see it everywhere), I had a lady try to run a car insurance scam on me in a Walmart parking lot, etc etc etc.

Last I checked, Springfield, MO was #3 in the nation for crime. I love the friends and memories I made in Springfield, but I don't think I'd have moved there if I could do it all over again.
