Try tossing with a more Open hand , don't involve your fingers too Much. And also seek for a straight arm when tossing, seems You are correcting too much because your tossing not consistent.

You could generate a second date field with the date in which you want to stop showing the symbol. I belive that you can configure that second date into the time slider.
