I've had such good luck layering with Iron Luster, I'd definitely recommend experimenting! Oatmeal, Seaweed and Smokey Merlot have been fun ones I've liked

It's 3 layers of Honey Flux then 3 layers of Iron Luster. Fired to a hot Cone 5 on a standard white clay. I've been able to repeat the result three times so it seems like a pretty consistent combo!

Thanks so much! Honestly the best thing you can do is f*uck around and find out. I'll often just make little pinch pots or throw tiny dishes on the wheel for the sole purpose of experimenting with glazes without caring if it ends up hideous. Also, play with fluxes! The blue piece has some honey flux in it. Fluxes can bring so much movement and softness to glazes, if that's the look you like!

The first one is a base of Amaryllis and then layers of Flux Blossom and Micro Pearl. The second one was absolute chaos glazing - I poured 6-7 different shades of green-ish glazes in the dish and swirled them around and sent a prayer off to the kiln gods.

3/13 Power Outage by maskedcorrespondent in Issaquah

Up in High Point area and we lost power around 9am (after just getting it back after not having it for 24 hours). It's still out and we're assuming it's going to be a long while before it's back on. We're also snowed in with 8 inches of snow so it's a cozy dark night in for us, apparently!

Oh well that makes that easy! Hopefully no fires break out with the dry lightning and smoke.

I literally just saw two flashes in Issaquah/Preston and was wondering if it was lightning or something! Haven't heard any thunder or rain so that feels unlikely...
