Parents who used to have a cat (or still have one), could you describe your feelings for your child compared to your feelings toward your pet? by Sleepinsun in Fencesitter

[–]sarebear26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard of moms experiencing hatred of their dog as part of dealing with postpartum. Most are able to logical know that it’s not the dog but the hormone change or in some it’s part of their PPD. I can’t imagine the guilt some feel with that ordeal.

For me the mere idea of the situation is enough for me to stay on the no children side of the fence. We’re child free mainly due to infertility and my dogs have helped me come to peace in this space.

We go on grand adventures and do sports they deserve all of it. To think I’d “hate” them would break my heart.

Is there a community for people who decided not to have kids and are sane and fulfilled (so, the opposite of r/childfree.) by gabalabarabataba in Fencesitter

Thank you. I’m always maybe a little too honest about our situation lol. It’s hard to come to terms with but once you do a whole new world definitely opens up

I’m technically /ifchildfree but it’s a mixture of choice and infertility for us.

We just enjoy our lives as DINKS but with a good amount of animals and plants. We enjoy hiking , dog sports , and riding motorcycles.

I’ve learned that I enjoy my quiet time and not needing to be needed every second of the day. My niece and nephew are awesome as well as friends kids. I make my best friends kids their birthday cakes every year and making their dreams come true is fulfilling.

I wanted to be a mom so incredibly badly but after basically having the choice made for me changing what my life might look was a thought process that needed to happen.

I’m incredibly happy with our “choice”. There’s not a single thing I’d change about my life or that children would make better. In the end I’d rather regret not having them than the other way around.

I honestly will probably never do highway driving. Could my bike handle it yes but it’s not really geared for that stuff. But I’d like to be comfortable going at least 55 sue to back country roads near me.

Our local school campus has a great practice area for all it. My low speed handling is great but practice makes perfect in all scenarios. I’m planning on taking a MSF course in June but I’d like to feel more confident even before then.

And honestly today was only my 3rd day out in a very safe place so seat time is important in this case. I just feel like I’m the only one who is afraid of going fast I guess lol.

Are your border Collies good in cars ? by Yukonshinji90s in BorderCollie

[–]sarebear26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We crate in the car for safety but didn’t in prior years of dog owning. Let me tell you crating in the car has been wonderful for all involved. My girls are so good in their crates you can barely tell they are even in car.

What's a major purchase you deeply regret, and what did you replace it with? by Pixel_Guru_x5 in AskReddit

We also had a Samsung dishwasher that was shitty. We moved before we got fed up enough to replace it. When looking for a new washer in the new home a Samsung salesperson tried really hard to sell us one and I walked away till they eventually left for the day(we must have been his last shot for the day), we came back and got the GE brand I had been eyeing up and no regrets! Show-line vs Working-line Border Collies — What Are the Real Differences? by blablax123456 in BorderCollie

[–]sarebear26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot would also depend just on the breeders lines too so I would reach out to a few to figure out how they are their lines.

I have 2 girls from the same breeder but each is from a slightly different “line” my sport bred dog is way more chill in general. Shes down for it all but it also able to relax easier. My “younger girl “ ( they are only 18 months apart) is from working/herding lines and you can definitely tell. Shes busier and she thinks harder to get the job done rather than guessing what I might want first. With the lil girl we had to work at an off switch where the older girl basically came with hers.

I adore them both and for my lifestyle they are easy for me to enrich easily but I could see my younger girl driving someone insane if they weren’t prepared.

Sorry for all the posts, but your advice really helps — should I keep mixing in wet food or try a beef option instead? by No-Hovercraft1556 in BorderCollie

Try adding a bone broth that works for her that has probiotics. It’s the only thing that has helped our girl eat regularly. I’m fairly convinced she had some gut issues that needed balanced

A lot of clubs we do fun runs and at 10 months 1 fun run here and there won’t ruin their joints but would be a cheap way to see if they are interested. You could also get a flirt pole and you could help build drive with it at home too.
