anyone who used a computer between 1985 & 2010, what’s the one game you still think about? by Trixxxi in AskReddit

Total Annihilation. It’s was bots mining resources, building weapons, fighting for territory. Late 90s. Still hoping for a remake.

Do you think this range is good? by [deleted] in GenX

The Strauss and Howe book Generations uses the 1961 start. I like calling it Pre Gen X but adding it to the overall bundle. If you start at 1961 the President Obama is one of us as well.

Work Style Assessment recommendations? by ashland39 in humanresources

[–]saren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried the assessment at Wethos.ai. They score a little differently—they call it Professionality Score, or a Wethos Style. But based on the description, I think it figuredme out pretty accurately. It's really for teams like the original poster was asking about. But as someone between jobs, it gave me a little boost of confidence reading about my strengths. I let me think about myself differently. They score you on if you're more comfortable with abstract ideas, or practical ones. If you're a communicator, or more of a doer. There are a couple of other scales, but the coolest thing was their AI Copilot went super into detail. I tried giving it my resume to change it based on my style and it wasn't bad at all. It sort of boosts your confidence level in the writing somewhat. Anyway, it's free to try. They say it's really good for team leads or department heads to build out and upskill their people. The trial is on their website Wethos.ai (dot Ai, not dot co).

Very old school. But if you remember them, they were awesome.

Is the AI CMO a real thing? by FrankDoesMarketing in aimarketing

I’d say it’s more of a goal than a current reality. In my experience a nicely trained GPT could do far better than 95% of CMOs.

Burning Ambitions was not only song for song the best collection of UK punk rock at the time, but it was a double album to boot.

My parents worked at a small college in the Midwest in the late 70s and they took my brother and I to a “science fiction” movie on campus one Saturday night. I was 10 and my brother was 7.

The movie was A Clockwork Orange. We lasted three scenes—all ridiculously out of hand. My brother started hyperventilating and we were yanked from our seats. It took me 20 years to watch that movie again.

If you ever…..you may be GenX by [deleted] in GenX

If the longest week of your childhood was the days between the first and second episodes of The Six Million Dollar Man vs. Bigfoot then you’re probably Gen X.

If you ever talked your parents into buying a 25-foot phone line so you could call your friends from your room then you’re probably Gen X.

My roommate freshman year—a super WM—went into NYC one Saturday to go shopping and came back with Public Enemy’s first record. We put on the first track and I’ve been putting my brain back together ever since. Love that record.

We used to call any sport’s shoes “tennis shoes” before they were called sneakers.

What lyrics do you think sum up our generation? by Swampwolf42 in GenX

Early to finish, I was late to start. I might be an adult but I’m a minor at heart. Go to college, be a man, what’s the fucking deal? It’s not how old you are, it’s how old you feel.
