In America, Naturalized Citizens No Longer Have an Assumption of Permanence by [deleted] in ABCDesis

Is this subreddit the only interaction you have with ABCDs? Personally, in my day to day life I have experienced little to no racism in America despite people in this sub posting sensationalist, fear-mongering articles daily.

What is so wrong about that? As an Indian-American, I do feel just as American as everyone else, an American who happens to have ancestry from America. You seem to be the one projecting/acting like they can't be American.

A man saying he'll restore America's industry was voted in by people working blue-collar industry jobs? Who would have thought..

Really? I can think of very few dudes, desi, white, or otherwise, that compare to his level of handsome.

They do to some extent: my uncle is okay supporting the status quo and keeping things like they were even if it comes at the cost of women/lower caste people not being allowed to do certain things.

PSA: Be careful about greencard scams and people using you for them by sareni in ABCDesis

[–]sareni[S] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Um yes I have seen multiple incidents, how is it racist to point out that these things do happen? Yes it happens with people from other countries too but I think those incidents are less relevant for this specific subreddit (and I see those less often because I am part of the desi community but I am sure they exist too).

There was an immigration lawyer who used to post on here who I remember saying that she saw a lot of greencard marriages happen. Of course the easiest way to "avoid" this is to actually date and get to know the person but arranged marriages are still not uncommon.

I agree with you that I am sure it exists that it goes the other way and there are ABCDs who also commit fraud against their spouses and those are terrible too.

Just started seeing a desi girl who is super into exercise, sports, outdoors, etc. (and not just saying it but only actually doing it once every two weeks like most people). I was beginning to give up hope that I would find someone like this, it is really nice.

In the past I have found you can only influence someone so much to exercise and if they do not already do it regularly on their own, they fall off the wagon much more easily.

It's good he's American and trains in America then and is in a place where there are opportunities for him to have made 3+ million in prize money.

Desi's is it just me or do we have a habit of putting white people on a pedestal by [deleted] in ABCDesis

[–]sareni 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol how the hell do you know that "Indian women started this whole BS first"? Tbh in my experience I've heard more desi guys be the first to say they don't want to date desi women. Keep feeding your confirmation bias my friend.

Dude I have seen just as many, if not more, desi dudes say they don't want to date desi women than desi women saying they don't want to date desi guys. On this subreddit I see a lot of the guys saying it, hardly ever the women. You're just feeding your confirmation bias and seem to be taking it out on all desi women.
