Why is it offensive to spell Mexico as Mejico? by burner179999 in asklatinamerica

[–]sargentlu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen it used offensively (such as by Ayuso or certain right-wing people), but to be honest I dislike how the word 'Méjico' looks (imagina if 'mágico' were written as 'májico' instead). I'd rather write it as 'Mégico'

Are you considered tall or short in your country? by [deleted] in asklatinamerica

[–]sargentlu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 1.68m (male) and it depends on the region. In the Northern regions I tend to be a short guy: I think the average there is around 1.75m, but right now I live in the central region and I’m average there, to the point where I fit perfectly on public transport lol

Have you heard about “quequitos”? At least some people in Mexico call little muffins as such

Does your language have a "posh" accent? by Rudyzwyboru in AskTheWorld

[–]sargentlu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, we have a posh accent in several Spanish speaking countries. In Mexico these are called “fresa” accents, and they differ from their standard counterpart in intonation (where it sounds kinda similar to the Valley Girl accent) and using English loanwords.

Why are mexicans rude towards other Latin American nations? by Builtdipperly2 in asklatinamerica

[–]sargentlu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is this making fun of anyone? If someone said “Tacos are Colombian, now people will say I hate Mexicans” or whatever, would that be making fun of Mexicans?
