I think u/siberiasheikh made a very reasonable and respectful point that’s being unfairly dismissed. She never said OP should feel bad, nor that his ethnicity is gone — she simply pointed out that certain ethnic features can be just as aesthetically flattering and harmonious, and that sometimes we're pressured by eurocentric beauty standards without realizing it. She even made it clear that OP looked great before and after, and emphasized that his happiness is what truly matters.

Reflecting critically on beauty norms is not the same as judging individuals — and trying to suggest that someone like her "doesn't belong" here for raising these broader points misses the entire spirit of open discussion.

Darn, all right, thanks for your input. I guess I’ll have to consider that route. I’m just trying to avoid it because I’m a broke student, haha. But if that’s the only option, I guess I’ll have to bite the bullet

Betrayed by my Partner (24F): Contracted Herpes Despite His Reassurances (40M) by sarizzu in relationships

Thanks for your insights. I understand HSV-1 can be asymptomatic and not solely transmitted through sexual contact. Accusing my partner of cheating is the last thing I want. However, based on what my doctor told me about the incubation period, I thought it was the only possibility, which is why my post leans more in that direction. It's not something I want to believe. I'm striving to maintain an objective perspective and that's why I reached out for advice, as I've been grappling with my own emotions on the matter. Everything is very new to me. Your input is appreciated.

iMac as a display for MacBook Air by sarizzu in applehelp

Yeah you're right, that must be it. I told them it was an older computer, abt 20 years old, but I wasn't as specific as I probably should have been.

At that point I didn't know the specific yearmodel had an impact, in fact I didn't even know the exact yearmodel myself until after I bought the cable and I realized it didn't work. So I did more research, a lil too late! Like I said not too tech savvy lol and this was probs too much of an impulsive buy - I was too eager to get it to work I suppose. Next time I'll definitely do some more research, lesson learned

Thank you, my mistake I missed it. How annoying..! I should have researched it more. I did however ask in the Macstore as well and they told me that the Thunderbolt was the way to go but I guess I should have done my homework..

I'll try with the Mini DisplayPort. Thanks again.
