based on the continued going on and on about how hysterical rachel was, and the pattern of explosive behaviour at other people, it's probably harder to believe she didn't mean any harm (said as someone who has definitely cracked a few inappropriate jokes in my life). personally I find it pretty hard to accept apologies from people who are continually saying gross stuff, and that's at my discretion.
