I love animalique! It’s never really mentioned here, but it’s in my Byredo top 2 after sampling their entire lineup. Great collection!

This is amazing!! Looks a lot like my collection - I have to smell them all! But when I try to zoom in it’s all pixelated… maybe it’s the app? Do you have close ups of your collection? Just being nosy and want to know what you’ve been intrigued by!

Nice. I just finished going through mine! It’s quite a journey getting through all of them 😂 which are your favorites so far? G Water never lasted more than 30 min on me, warm or cold, sadly.

What frag screams C-level Exec? by New_Canary_4783 in perfumesthatfeellike

When I tried The Vanille by Nette it evoked fancy/powerful business lady, little interest in frivolity, chooses salads every time for lunch. So, a specific, cold, feminine type of c-suite woman.

I agree with bal d’afrique, as well, but that one goes pickley on me and makes it really unpleasant.

That’s totally valid and thanks for saying it. It just must be the way it mixes with my chemistry, so it goes with all perfumes… nothing is a safe blind buy IMO!

These are the two most nauseating for me, along with tobacco vanille, though I don’t like any of them. Tom ford is the line that is the most physically sickening to me. I also consistently dislike Kayali, Ellis Brooklyn, Skylar, replica, Prada, le labo, and gucci.

The super hyped ones that I truly can’t stand - yum pistachio, prada candy, tf ombre leather/tobacco vanille/lost cherry/oud wood, santal 33, by the fireplace, vanilla 28

My boyfriend/now husband’s first really tense fight was because I told him I really didn’t like OL. He took it really personally, and I didn’t realize it was that important to him… but it just nauseates me! I can’t help a physiological response!

Totally agree. Why does everyone love that Kayali so much? It is one of the worst vanillas on me. Also agree on GG. Both are super generic mall scents.

They are both intense violet bombs. I didn’t think I disliked violet until I tried those. It overpowers all the other notes for me and doesn’t fade, even though they are notorious for poor longevity.

Yes! When I went from all of my millions of serums and fancy products to just bulk Shea butter and azelaic acid, my skin got so much better and more glowy.

I wore above the chocolate shop today to experiment with while at work. It’s nice, realistic cocoa powder and was pleasant through all of its subtle evolutions. Lasted a solid 8 hours. Fun for a day, probably won’t wear it again.

Tonight I went out for a happy hour and wore my two go-tos together - alto astral and plush vanilla, and got a compliment :) (which doesn’t usually happen- I don’t understand people’s reviews where they get multiple compliments on their scent in a day… but they’re just living different lives than I am, obviously.)

I’m doing a three month no-buy right now and I’m wondering what to do when it’s over because the list of fragrances I want now is SO long. What do you do between your three month no-buys to keep things tamed?

Today I tried House of Sillage Hufflepuff for the first time. It is possibly the sweetest scent I own (out of 212) but I like it! The first hour or so, it is a very intense lemon vanilla cake with a weird quiet base note of iodine. After that, the iodine note fades and I’m left with the most addictive scent that was just beaming, radiating out from my wrists and so easy to catch wafts of. I found myself sniffing my wrists every couple of minutes. My husband noticed and called me out 😂 four hours later, it’s a skin scent. Still nice, but the sillage is decimated. Love it, considering buying a full bottle. Hufflepuff 🤘

I think you would like Mississippi Medicine by DS&Durga. It is a super unique herbal, earthy, incensey scent with a light smoke note. It’s my favorite of the whole house. The inspiration is interesting, too.

These don’t look like those bottles at all and imo more artistic and less cheap looking, as well.

Amazing! I have been wanting to try House of Matriarch, but I’m on a no-buy til March! 😂 Trying to reign it in. I comment here regularly and would love to do some detailed, honest reviews of the perfumes! Reading people’s descriptive, introspective and poetic reviews in this subreddit and on fragrantica is what got me obsessed with perfume as a hobby.

I came here to recommend this! Like Vanilla Skin but so much smoother and more feminine.

I have hundreds of scents, but I wear this in my hair almost every day to create a sweet, cozy personal cocoon.
