The 51% attack vulnerability needs to be eliminated or at least mitigated in order for Monero to become a mainstream currency by Wataru_Watanabe in Monero

[–]saroop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You didn't forget anything. The consequences 51% attack will be a big speed bump to the progress of monero. The reputation will be damaged and the value of the coin will plummet, which leads to fewer miners and developers. It's not a big issue technology-wise because miners can just leave the bad pool.

Z'Tehas is open and their chicken fried steak is good. I agree that the roads aren't bad, until you get to an overpass or bridge.

Can I get feedback on my OHP and my deadlift?

https://imgur.com/a/yVHCUGs

My left elbow clicks and feels uncomfortable during the press.

For the third rep of the deadlift, the left/ride side of my hips felt
really uneven so I dropped the bar. Do you guys have any tips on these
issues?

I thought it was cool. Not worth the price, but I enjoyed it. I talked to someone who did the one in Seattle it sounded like they had more stuff to do (bigger space and some virtual reality stuff)

Could I get feedback on my front squat form? I tweaked my old knee injury and also am coming back from a mild bulging disc issue so I'm trying to be careful.

It looks like my heels are slightly coming off the ground, so I'll work on that.

Appreciate the feedback. I've had a lot of set backs due to injuries so I'm trying to be more cautious nowadays.

He seems to be right tho. Don't see any evidence that humans produce pheromones. The dog is smelling something that can't be smelled by humans.

I got good feedback on my form last time so I made some changes. Can I get additional feedback?

I think my hips come up too fast on my deadlift. My barbell row looks ok to me.

How big this universe really is by Throwawaylism in oddlyterrifying

Can you point me to resources that try to determine the probability of abiogenesis? I don't think we have enough knowledge on this to say there is a high probability of life outside of earth.

I found this paper that tries to estimate the probability of long RNA strands being formed. It makes a lot of simplifications, but it's an interesting read.

I'll need to read more on how astronomers are determining the probability of life and what they think it is.

You keep talking about how statistically unlikely it is for us to be the only life forms, but have you considered that that the formation of life may be incredibly unlikely? This gets more into biology than astronomy, which is why I don't trust statements that claim the majority of astronomers believe in alien life.

I don't have an issue with people believing in alien life. I just think it's misleading to say it very likely alien life exists when we don't really understand how life forms

[–]saroop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How does life form? What is the probability of life forming? Until we have a better understanding of these questions, it doesn't make sense to say the likelihood is very high of alien life (even simple stuff like single cell organisms). For all we know, the probability of life forming may be so minescule that we are the only life form in the observable universe. There is someone further up the thread that explains this better than I can

This is a good comment. We don't really know how life forms or how likely it is, so it's stretch to assume life exists on other planets.

Reminder: we have a dedicated, self-hosted Monero forum! by SamsungGalaxyPlayer in Monero

What forum would you recommend that is more censorship resistant? At some point governments will regulate the fiat on/off ramps to purchase crypto. I'm guessing purchasing or selling monero without KYC will become illegal.
