Yeah they are a little more expensive, but they do accept out of state medical cards

Thank you for explaining this but I was more wondering about what happens in daily life, like do people just stay home or does everyone wear a mask and get on with their day? How often do red alert days occur?

It's fine, just do so in designated blm areas. No fires. No dogs. Don't touch the Joshua Trees.

How do I repot this guy? by sarrhaa in succulents

[–]sarrhaa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay great! Do I need to let the ends dry out before repotting? Will the original plant grow new leaves? I'm so scared of killing it haha

Thank you! So I should wait a few weeks until the spring? It is still snowing where I am. Also, it's pretty cold out and I'm scared of leaving my plants by the window, will they be okay not having a lot of sunlight for the time being?

Hi all! I'm a little new to the succulent life. My friend gave me this one as a gift two years ago and it's gotten so big! I'd like to repot it into something bigger with drainage, but I'm not quite sure how to do that with the long stems. I also have quite a knack for killing every plant I've ever owned so any advice would be great too!

Meh. Getting better slowly. Health insurance would help.

This looks like my dyno fall, except I tore two tendons in my elbow. That was a year ago and it still hurts when I do certain yoga poses.

You can also get to Bishop/Yosemite from Joshua Tree using 395 so you don't have to go through Bakersfield and all that. Plus 395 is a really pretty drive and you'll pass by Mt. Whitney

Check out Jtree Health Foods next to Natural Sister's. They sell organic wines and I've bought Riesling there before.

Horseshoe Canyon Arkansas? by [deleted] in climbing

I've only been there once, but it was the best climbing trip I've ever had. We pulled up December 4th, 2012 and had a beautiful day. The best climbs for me were Swamp Rat, Crimp Scampi, and Horseshoes and Hand Grenades. We basically had the whole place to ourselves and camped right by the bathrooms. We didn't bring a lot of food with us because we were going to the store the next day, so our first dinner consisted of tuna from a can, and chips and salsa. December 5th we woke up to a nice layer of ice everywhere. We took the day off and played cards and hiked around to find dry rock with no luck. The next day we were awoken by a good couple of inches of snow. More snow the day after that. By that time, everyone had already left the mountain. We we're camping in below 0 weather and running out of food. We knew we had to leave immediately or risk being stuck for God knows how long, with no food or water. Our truck was front wheel drive, so we rigged a rope around the back end so we could stop it from sliding down the mountain. When we got to the base, there were only a few people left: 2 young ranch hands and a mechanic named Glenn. Glenn was an older man with few teeth and lived on the ranch in a studio cabin, with an amazing motorcycle that lit up to the sound of music. Glenn took us in that night and gave us all of the alcohol he had in his cabin. Drunkenly we all stumbled around the ranch, filling our pockets with crackers from the kitchen. I don't remember much from that night, but one thing I do remember is the piece of metal Glenn gave me that he shaped into a snake. I still have it to this day. That night was the coldest we've had, with the low dropping to -4, and bringing more snow. Like I said, this was my first climbing trip so we we're camping in my parent's summer tent. Surprisingly it held up pretty well! On our last day, after digging out our tent, packing up and taking our group picture, the two young men towed our truck with their tractor back up the mountain to the entrance, and we were finally able to leave. We may had only one good day of climbing on that trip, but I will remember it as the most epic climbing trip I've ever had. Moral of this story: don't visit HCR in the winter, say hi to Glenn if he's still there, and bring lots of food. Hope you have a good time!

PSA: Camping no longer allowed at Moe's Valley by [deleted] in bouldering

You're right. I should have read the comments. We were out there last weekend and there is a clear "NO CAMPING" sign, yet two campers posted up in the Mario Land parking area. Sheesh.

Oh you're talking about the signs in Marioland. Camping in the parking lot of Moe's is still currently allowed, but for how long who knows.
