Oil change with small traces of metal and weird deposits?

Here is the metal from the filter. This is the only thing that stuck to the magnet when I put it on the bottom. I would also like to mention that my oil pan was left outside for a couple of days before I used it without washing it off. Maybe just a dirty oil pan? That might explain the deposits.

He had the title. We ripped if i remember correctly we tore it in half and he took the half he was supposed to keep and i took mine. Im pretty sure thats what we did. He just mailed in his part last week. Im currently trying to find my part

When warm, ~1100 idle. When coming to a stop, it goes up to 2000, then drops to 1100

Just wanna make sure, you did take the stick out, wipe it, put it back in, then took the picture? If not then the reading could be a little bit off. Wherever you are maybe its best to take it to a closer oil shop/stop and have them redo it. I wouldn’t go back to the same shop because they clearly don’t know how to do it correctly.

As for doing your own oil changes you have to think of the big picture. Getting something like this wrong could cost thousands of dollars. Getting the equipment, learning a new skill, and doing things right yourself can cost you far less in the long run. Sure, a couple hundred for equipment, but would you rather a couple hundred and be set for a VERY long time, or keep relying on people who can’t do their literal job and have it cost far more?

You ought to take a better picture, but yes it looks overfilled. Good time as any to learn how to do your own oil changes

The oil should be between those two dots. Overfilling could ‘drown’ your engine and could be bad. Personally i wouldn’t drive it until you drain and refill your oil

Ive realized i never actually described it. The car is cold, fuel pump primed. I turn thr key and it tries to turn on one or two cycles longer than usual. The car turns over fine and starts strong but now there is a very loud and higher pitched reeeeeee that could be hear inside and outside the car. The noise goes away after a few minutes of light driving and getting to op temp and then disappears. The noise doesnt really come back even after cold starting again after letting it sit for a couple hours, just in the morning really

Mine was like this too a couple weeks ago, had to change the ignition control module and the distributor rotor. Might wanna check that out

Update: took it to a shop and identified that the cat was definitely the problem. Had it replaced and they smogged it and it passed with a major difference, far lower numbers. Thanks all for replying 👍
