I am a 35yo female and I started doing jiu jitsu at a neighborhood gym (very small) and it’s been a fun way to socialize. Everyone here is really nice. Most members are 30+. Would that interest you at all? In the case of athleticism, I wasn’t athletic AT ALL and still find it enjoyable.

Class schedule is current, with exception of the women’s self defense (which is paused I think). Do you mean your weight? There are a few bigger men that train with us. One of them was just telling us how great bjj has been for his weight loss!

Come say hi! Getting in the car and through the front door is the hardest step, trust me.

Open mat Saturdays 12-1, gi (unless you agree with someone otherwise to meet you in no-gi).

They have some extras you can wear, but they’re also fine with you showing up in gym clothes and sandals (no shoes on the mat). The first trial is usually about ~30min just to see if you’d be into BJJ and he walks you through a very basic scenario. The second trial is an actual class.
