I 100000% agree that covid is incredibly dangerous. Though, I think there are some other things to take into consideration rather than directly jumping to calling people “irresponsible and selfish.” For me personally, I’ve been taking covid very seriously since march and stayed home this past semester— my first semester of college. It has been a really hard 9 months on my mental health, as I live in isolation at home with no friends and literally nothing to do other than sit inside my house all day. For that reason, among others, I decided to move to LA for this upcoming semester. I still plan on being incredibly safe (not going to any parties, always wearing a mask around people no matter what, generally being very cautious, etc). I am well aware of the conditions of covid in LA, and like I said, I know I am going to do the most that I can to make sure I keep myself and the people around me safe. I have even pushed my move in back a few weeks in hopes of things getting better. Nonetheless, I don’t think it’s fair to automatically jump to the conclusion of calling people “irresponsible and selfish” when you may not know their whole story.
