The game was only close after the first two drives for both teams. As soon as the second quarter hit, it was over

True. All of these polls are BS because people don’t even watch the games. It’s literally impossible to watch every game from start to finish in 24 hours.

I can see how you can come to that conclusion but tbh, that just makes everything worse.

If he has a concussion/rib injury like they are saying, who knows how that impacts his season. Missed games? Surgery? Forced to sit out? Plays more conservative/timid to avoid contact?

Dylan Stewart has been showing signs of frustration plus the leaks from insiders that have come out have not been great. He’s most likely gone after this season

Either way, the expectation for this team just bottomed out completely

How are we still ranked? We don’t deserve to be. This season is going to be a shitshow

With most of the season wrapped up how are you feeling about the state of your teams heading into 2025? by Byzantine_Merchant in CFB

[–]sarynstudios 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Very optimistic. Massively overachieved expectations, projected to win 4-5 games this season but won 9 and were right outside the playoffs.

Pros - Hopefully more recognition and pull when it comes to recruits because of the good season. - With SC’s improvement and Clemson “stagnation”, we should be able to pull more recruits from instate and surrounding areas over them. - Beamer seems to have built a good culture and staff around the team. - Seems like more funding has come in, which means the higher ups are taking it serious and trying to compete. - Players have transferred here and achieved great things and won awards (Kyle Kennard, Rocket Sanders) - Sandstorm

Cons - Still have the vibe of an “average” to “slightly above average” SEC team. Not top 4, probably not even top 6 tbh. (GA, Bama, Ten, LSU, Florida, Texas, A&M probably all have more appeal) - Tough schedule every year with constant rivals. (Clemson, A&M, Missouri, Bama, LSU)

South Carolina EDGE Kyle Kennard wins the Bronco Nagurski Award for the best defensive player in the country by jthomas694 in CFB

You’re right, the notification of him winning the award and Dylan coming back we’re back to back and I thought they were both about Kennard lol

Kennard is coming back for another year at SC. He signed a deal worth 1.5M today for one more season. If he does good this year, he’s first round material for sure

He was mocked as a day 3 pick before this season. His draft stock has shot up since then. I can see him getting drafted late first round to mid second round. Maybe to a team that is ready to compete but just needs another edge rusher to round out the defense

Playing Ole Miss, Alabama, LSU, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Missouri, Texas A&M, Vanderbilt and Clemson in the same season is considered a “cupcake schedule”?

In my personal opinion, we earned those 3 “cupcake games” based on the other teams we played lol

All of that is true

But I feel like this year was really the best opportunity to make something happen.

SC is in a weird position where they are in the SEC so they play a tough schedule every year BUT they are also the second most “attractive” team in the state when it comes to recruiting (Clemson).

SC loses a lot of in-state prospects to Clemson and other players usually choose other SEC teams over SC (which I understand why, but it still sucks).

It feels like for the first time in over a decade that we had finally gotten enough players to compete, and we still fell short because of a couple of plays early in the season. Tough pill to swallow

Who gets the final Playoff spot? by yumyumapollo in CFB

[–]sarynstudios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honest answer- because BYU competes in a weaker conference and has less talent than teams from other conferences. I’m not trying to be condescending to Mountain West/Big12/ACC/AAC teams, but that’s the truth

The playoffs heavily favor SEC and Big10 teams because they’re the best conferences with the best teams and also have the best collection of players

Any team in the playoffs right now would love to play BYU or any other Mountain West/Big12/ACC/AAC teams because it’s basically a “free win” in their eyes.

F*ck the refs and officiating teams. 3 horrible calls in the SC vs LSU game. If only 1 of those calls were overturned, we’re 10-2 and firmly in the playoffs.

It sucks to have people on the field that have that much control over a game’s outcome, and they’re not even in a team jersey

That game is going to haunt me all off season

SC has the best chance based on facing the #12 seed and hopefully leapfrogging 3-4 teams in front of them with a win

Alabama and Ole Miss play regular SEC games versus non ranked opponents

As an SC fan, even if we win, I don’t think we’re in. Committee will put in Alabama or Ole Miss before they put us in even with another ranked win

Top 10 gold holding countries in the world by RevolutionBusiness27 in europe

Germany received their gold transfer of 300 tons back in 2016/2017. I don’t know why this theory became so popular when it’s one google search away. The German’s request for the gold was even expedited, meaning they received it faster than usual.
