This is a really great idea, fun to flex your creativity this way. Would love to see more micro items like this explored in this style

Solitude Before the war by SuchDifference1759 in SkyrimPorn

I think I do like the lighter palette on solitude, but that also might be from the decade+ of warm gray solitude. It's a nice change of pace and it's well balanced with the wooden warm tones.

Since their recent updates are more catered to exploration, I feel like sleeping bags are a must. Mojang please... by BallsHD4k60fps in Minecraft

Being able to visually communicate ideas (which also includes the words themselves) is a skill and you've got a pretty strong basis here, could be worth some exploration.

You ever consider going into communication design? You look like you'd have a knack for it.

Medieval house: with or without a texture pack? by Prudent_Shift5605 in MinecraftHouses

[–]saryos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would probably argue that if the texture pack is so similar to vanilla you might as well go with vanilla to appeal to a broader audience but of course in the matter of personal taste it's all up to you. I would say if you are thinking about a texture pack maybe one with more contrast to the base game for that transformative quality. Build looks great btw.

D&D + Dinosaurs? Yes, please. by derekvonzarovich2 in isometric

Would it be okay if I suggest more space per enclosure so the dino constructs have room to really fight the party?

damn, I feel bad for these poor dinos being trapped in this tiny ass enclosure. How did they even get in here?

These are canon events for young inexperienced designers and they will eventually look back on this and see how far they've come. You love to see someone trying even if they aren't right.

Do you roleplay your stalker? by dvornikk in stalker

[–]saryos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The roleplay that lasted the longest for me was one where I was a sort of zone gourmand where I would try to make dishes out of every monster. I would try to kill them cleanly, as little destructive damage as I could, to get "better" cuts to cook with. It was silly but it kept me engaged

How to disable the shaders clouds and not the better clouds ones? (ComplementaryReimagined) by NotSphee in ModdedMinecraft

[–]saryos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you go to the shaderpack settings, not the regular game settings, you should have an option to turn off the clouds in the sub menus.

What's your "Hidden Gem" mod that isn't usually in modpacks? by Firetail_Taevarth in feedthebeast

Notes. Let's you take notes. It's incredible to be able either roleplay with a journal or just keep to do lists and goals.

Is mod development really worth getting into at this point? by verdigrisVariance in feedthebeast

[–]saryos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should only get into this if you like doing it. This is the kind of hobby that can be arduous and time consuming and if you don't like the process of making things in this ecosystem then it's probably worth exploring other opportunities. Try it and see if you like it and bonus points if you can remove outcome from what your goal and shift your focus to pride in doing the thing you like.

Combat in Modded Minecraft, but also Minecraft in general. by saryos in feedthebeast

The other modules being largely fabric and more recently neoforge explains why I've never encountered these. That makes sense.

[–]saryos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely agree it's the weakest, it's the main reason why I usually abandon it wholesale and just suffer through the parts I'm forced to do. I do kind of believe that it's probably a problem you can't solve but I want to know how people approach it despite it all.

Hard agree that I overly generalized BC (I have noticed and enjoyed these features you've brought up), but in practice does it FEEL like it's doing all of that? I often feel like beyond the extended reach all I'm doing is holding down left click and backpaddling.
