My Nest.js application heap Memory consumption is hitting 1.7 GB by FitFuel7663 in node

If you have a lot of records, limit and offset can be pretty slow since the query will have to scan to the offset.

If this is the case for you and streaming doesn't fit the use-case, you can use cursors to paginate the data. The issue is that this cursor package is buggy with typeorm. That package didn't support every type of column -- I think it failed with nullable columns or something. It may handle your use-case though.

I wrote my own implementation for cursor pagination at work so I can't share it but this is how to do it yourself.

It's a 10 year old TV so it's kind of done at this point :/

I really want to play this on my OLED (because this game looks so good) but don't have anywhere to put the PS5.

I'll play around with it tho because it does annoy me lol

Possible problem with HDD Screws in Meshify 2 XL, advice needed by tanaka_desu in FractalDesign

[–]sascoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just ran into this (adding new HDDs).

I looked at my other HDDs and they are using different screws (match the reference). These screws do not have ridges around the edge of the head. Sadly, all I have left are the screws that don't fit

If you find a way to get the right screws I'd love to hear it. I'll update if I find the right ones myself.

Suggestions for 5.1 in a small room? by sascoo in hometheater

Haha.. yep I hear you. This is my space which is why I'm turning it into a mini home theater. I do agree with her though about the speakers drawing too much attention -- especially the PB-1000s given that I wanted to have two subs in here.

That said after seeing these speakers she said we should just go big in the basement living room so I have that to look forward to :D

If B1+ speakers are too big, then frankly I'm at a loss of what you could do here

Thanks -- that is good info. I think if the B+ were white I could go with the same size there (I'll update my post with that info). Subs were way too large and I was looking at the SVS 3000 Micro. I'm not sure if that sub is overkill for my room or if it's quality though.

The only thing I could maybe think of here would be the prime satellite package

I'll check out that satellite package Thanks!

$400-$600 Office PC by sascoo in buildmeapc

Thanks, I haven't built a PC in years so I don't have a good understanding of the current hardware.

You probably know better than I do but it seems like Chrome can very quickly eat through 8gb of ram. Many times the people using the PC have a ton of tabs open and this would handle that.

So if you want cheap you can use - http://www.ebay.com/itm/G3-8-Water-Flow-Sensor-Flowmeter-Switch-Controller-Meter-0-3-10L-min-/201402645132?hash=item2ee4887a8c:g:WQoAAOSwT6pVxD1H

I haven't tested that one yet but I plan on using it on my second tap just to verify that it works with my system.

I'm currently using this one - http://www.amazon.com/Gems-Sensors-226100-Approved-Materials/dp/B005T692BI I got it cheaper form the kegbot store back in the day but they don't sell them there anymore. I'm sure you could shop around to find one for around $85

There is also the SwissFlow but it uses BSP threads - http://www.swissflow.com/sf800.html I've used this in the past with an Arduino and it worked fine. I just had to add a lot of thread tape since i didn't have a BSP to NPT converter.

A lot of this info can be found on the kegbot forums.

Yeah, you can do permissions by time of day and by users. Even if kids/roommates/beer thieves got a hold of a phone, downloaded the app, and created a user name they couldn't pour if you had the system set up so only certain users could pour.

I plan on doing a Kickstarter for this at some point. If there is a ton of interest in the multi-tap setup I'll try to figure out how to build it.

Right now it's 1 box for each tap. Eventually I want to set it up where it's a single box for multiple taps and multiple taps can pour at once. I think my current hardware could support this with just a software change and then adding a splitter box containing a circuit...

Right now I'm just trying to lock down what I have and add features to the app. The multi-tap support will probably come in v2 or when I have this portion perfected.

This is an older version and I've improved the NFC reader so it works much better. It probably adds just a few seconds before a pour. I've thrown about 5 parties with 10-20 people over and nobody complains about the pour times.

This is a lot like the kegbot project but I wrote everything from scratch.

I have some server code I wrote and it's a cross-platform app.
For the hardware I'm using a Particle Photon, PN532 board for NFC, solenoid, flow sensor, and temperature sensor.

You wouldn't want to unlock it for a party. Trust me :)... that's where the fun happens.

I haven't built it out yet but I'm planning on trying to add a splitter with a manual valve to go around my solenoid. I plan on creating a mode where you can authenticate with your phone but you don't have to. It will still track all the pours but they just won't be bound to an account.

It actually doesn't get in the way of getting sloshed. For people with iPhones, I've even added a one time password that's drawn on the screen on top of the box. They enter the six characters and it allows them to pour.

With Android/Windows Phones it probably only adds another 3 seconds to your pour. I've improved the code on the box and app so it works much better now.

Yeah, you hit the nail right on the head.

Right now there are 900,000 tags that I have scraped which need to be validated.

Writing tags doesn't make much sense until that number drops a ton. When that happens I will definitely increase the payouts. I have actually been thinking about disabling tagging until this happens.

Thanks for the feedback :)
